Watching Mark take a double front flip straight to his face was entertaining to say the least. The only thing Andrew and I can think about is what Tosh.O would have to say about it?

What are you? Web Designer or Web Developer

While debatable, there is a major difference between a Web Designer and a Web Developer. Before you decide which side you fall on, lets take a look at the definitions: Web Designer - Web designers can be very similar to graphic designers, most often using graphic programs to create skins (page layouts) and another to make their visual design come to life. They are responsible for page layout, color palettes, and even user-friendliness of a web page. So in a nutshell, Web Designers are focused on the look and feel of a website including the information and user interface design, rather then the programming (code) side of things. Web Developer - Web development is the ?behind-the-scenes? work, extensive and complicated language that determines the format (not layout) of a website. Web developers are responsible for programming (coding) the functionality of a website and keeping the site running effectively. They develop websites from the ground up, and are responsible for knowing the proper programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, PHP, ASP, etc. So what are you, a Web Designer or a Web Developer?

Save Galbraith Mountain

If you?re looking for an awesome mountain biking experience in western Washington, look no further then Galbraith Mountain in beautiful Bellingham. Home to 44 miles of world renowned mountain bike trails, Galbraith is the perfect example of a well run, rider supported, community driven mountain bike mecca. For those of you not aware, the owner of 3,015 forested acres on Galbraith Mountain had recently announced that they would be ending their recreational use agreement with the organization WMBC that works to build and maintain a collection of world class trails on Galbraith. The decision would terminate access to the public, meaning thousands of local riders, tourists, and hikers will have to venture elsewhere to fulfill their outdoor adventures. But with gathered energy and enthusiasm from local Bellingham residents, businesses, and organizations our community has been able to raise enough awareness for the stewardship program to stay in place - FOR NOW. ?The WMBC agreed to accept an continuation of the Recreational Use Agreement/Stewardship agreement in hopes that the positive momentum can be maintained and a deal reached that would be a win for all parties?. - Mark Peterson, WMBC President. Although the process is not finalized, the trails still remain open to the public (see article). Here are some local videos filmed on Galbraith Mountain, including my first featured VOD on PinkBike.com in February.

This season I have already skied the most pow days of my life, not to mention some of the deepest snow. I can?t say I?ve ever taken nipple deep pow turns before now. Mt. Baker has been getting dumped on ? snowfall upon snowfall bringing anywhere from 5-18 inches a night, resulting in an almost 25 foot base!Recently I met an awesome guy by the name of Jay Goodrich, who happens to be an extremely talented photographer. Jay really enjoys the journey and excitement in photography, and creating and being creative is what he?s all about. We met up at Baker a few weeks back and spent the afternoon together exploring Baker, shooting photos, and enjoying the 13? snowfall the day had laid upon us. Here are a few images Jay snapped as well as some video I captured during the day. Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes

It all started with an email... That eventually led to something much more. I?ve grown up following and supporting Northwest bred companies, watching many companies fail but also watching several succeed. One of the most successful companies I?ve tracked has been Northwest Riders Clothing Co, a company that is extremely supportive and involved in the action sports community. NWR originally developed around the Northwest wakeboard scene, but has also grown to support snowboarding, surfing, skiing, skateboarding, skim boarding, and most recently downhill mountain biking. Northwest Riders is all about supporting the region?s local communities, environment, and the riders that choose to call the Northwest their home.
