Kirkwood's Park this Year

Now I am not one to complain, but I think the Kirkwood park this year is kind of a piece of crap. I have been skiing there for 7 years and really only hit the park when the snow on the rest of the hill is nothing special. The past couple of years they have had the Superpark off of 2 and that has been pretty sweet. This year they just have an expanded version of their small park off of 5 and the biggest jump there can not be more then 25-30' and I think that might be generous.
I was up at Alpine on Sat. and after cruising the mountain in the morning we went over to their park in the afternoon and that thing is in a completely different league. Those jumps were so smooth and very well built. I honestly think the smallest hit at Alpine (not including the really small jump line) was bigger then the largest one at Kirkwood.
I did see the jumps for the comp. over the next week at Kirkwood being built under 2 and I would hope that they would keep those up and create the Superpark again given the massive amount of snow they have. However, from conversation with the staff, the chances of that are slim to none. I still think that Kirkwood is the best in the Tahoe area for snow, steeps, cliffs, powder, etc., but I feel like they have taken a huge step down in their park arena.
Anyone else see the same thing going on?

It feels like the jumps at alpine...props to eric and the crew at alpine for building such sick jumps.

it is a nice little park, but those jumps do not throw you up at all. the DC rail is sick, and the pipe is too when they groom it.

I completely agree. I don't know how kirkwood could go from one year having one of the best parks in tahoe to having the worst park the next year.
It's just not that great this year. The jumps are small.
The jumps they built up for the PIG competition were HUGE and that would've been sick if they left them. But no, they tore them down.
The vibe I have been getting from the staff has been that they are not having a superpark because not enough people have used it. They set up and paid one of their lift op's last year to stand on top of the park and check the superpark passes and there would only be a few people all day in there. (which I thought was sweet. you wouldn't have to worry about beginners). Because of this, no superpark.
If you want a change, send them a letter or email. They do read their emails and it could greatly influence them if several of us sent in complaints.

they have enough natural hits and features that they dont need a super park, they have 100 drops that are hit on good days.
