Moving to VERNAL Utah baby - some help

I'll be moving to Vernal Utah come mid January, looks as though im near a good grouping of 12-13k feet peaks, seems most are in reservations though.
Anybody live near Vernal and ski, looking to hook up and hit some backcountry. Anybody know anythings to know about that area?

vernal is in the middle of nowhere
any good mountains are like 2-3 hours away
vernal is the shittiest town with the sluttiest girls

Elk City, Oklahoma
Bakersfield, California
Liberty, Texas
Casper, Whyoming
And i chose Vernal Utah..
because im close to the green river, within 2ish hours of fucking sweet ass skiing. Yeah, the town is in like a desolate area, but i will definitely make it a good time to live there and have fun.
Im hoping that there are some ski bums there that are stricken to work there, but take many chances to hit some powder, so then i can hitch a ride with them... otherwise i be driving a ford escort wagon with chains.
anybody know of some hook up there or some shit like that..
So are you guys serious about the girls there, whats the low down on this village, hehehe? Give it to me straight up too

hahaha shit, best watch my back then up around these parts.
I was offered those places because that is where they currently need positions filled in the field of Wireline Oilfield services.
On any note, im coming up from Iowa, 21yrs old, really active in outdoors and I was hoping to hook up with somebody who knows places to hit up and shit to do. I also do not know what general people are like up there . . .
for instance, if i was to drive up to some ranch/farm and ask them for information about the area, directions, etc , would this be okay or would i get a blank stare. Is there shit one should not say up around that area or Utah in general...?
Damn, well i hope not all the women there are damaged corndogs looking for an easy hump - there has got to be some active chicks.
I thought that the Ashley National Forest would be prime for backcountry too

Yeah backcountry skiing is probably nice out there, dont really know havent been out there to much. I just meant there is no resort skiing, but youre not far from the wasatch anyway.
