In the winter of 2004-2005, Tamarack Resort will be the first major ski area to open in North America in over 20 years. In December 2004, Tamarack will open its alpine slopes with five lifts running, including two quad chairlifts, the Tamarack Express and Summit Express. Tamarack will offer the following activities to offer a relatively even mix of beginner, intermediate and expert terrain:
*Nordic Skiing & Snowshoeing: In the winter of 2003-2004, Tamarack Resort expanded its cross-country trail system to 30 kilometers of groomed trails. Also available at Tamarack are about 10K of snowshoe trails. The Tamarack Nordic Center is open seven days a week offering rentals, lessons and guided trips for both programs.
*Snow Cat Skiing: Tamarack will offer deluxe snow cat skiing trips on state and federal land, immediately adjacent to the resort. Snow cat trips feature top-notch ski guides, an avalanche orientation, avalanche beacons, a deluxe lunch from the Trailhead Caf, Northern Rockies-brand of light powder snow and as much vertical feet that groups can collectively muster.
*Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding: Tamaracks alpine skiing and snowboarding operations will be based out of our Pioneer Village at the base of the Tamarack Express chairlift. In the village, skiers can take a break at lunchtime for a meal in the cafeteria or restaurant, shop for new ski apparel in retail shops or sign up for a lesson at our ski school.
*Terrain Park and Half Pipe: Snowboarders and freeriding skiers can sample Tamaracks new terrain park and half pipe. Riders can test their mettle at the terrain park, which will feature a mixture of rails, obstacles and trick features.
