This is long but I was bored so I typed alot, bear with me:
Well, its about to snow in 2 months or so and what would be a better time to get so stoked about skiing that you just want to break stuff? If that's how you feel then you should probably buy High Five, Soul Purpose, Red Tape, or some other movie coming out this year. If you’re from the Great Falls/ Showdown region you might want to purchase the new LMP movie titled Sonar. That is, if you like the teaser after I get it up.
Sonar was filmed in and around Great Falls and Showdown, Big Mountain, Bridger Bowl, Glacier National Park, White Sulphur Springs, and Great Divide. We started filming in late October and spanned until late June. Along the way we were plagued with bad luck, but what do you expect? Our camera broke in October, like the first time using it all year, so in early November I bought a new one. After the purchase of my new cam the season was on. We spent about 2 weeks filming a slider, small gap, and a PVC rail at a park in Great Falls, then the snow melted. Later that month, two guys and me went to shoot at Showdown. Sam Bullington and Cornfed were there to building a pretty good-sized step-down but we opted to hike to the top rather than hit the jump. An hour and a half later we were on top, we took a few laps on Upper Quick to get warmed up then got out the cam to film. We got a few crappy pow runs then moved over to the Big 7 step-down/ cat-track where I did a few steezey 3’s. We then skied down the Big 7 but didn't film. Once we got to the bottom, we started hitting Sam and Corns step-down. One guy and me were the only 2 to hit it (Sam and Corn were gone) and I was the only one to spin over it. But the camera had gotten snow in it so it wouldn't film (smart me). The next day we headed to Great Divide with Crazy Logan, convinced my cam was broken I didn't even bring it. Great Divide had just opened the upper mountain, it was crap, rocks everywhere but it was November. They also had a flat rail and a down flat down rail, which were very fun. In two weeks Showdown opened with a nice base and 8 inches overnight the second day it was the best opening weekend ever. December 26th, the day Bridger got like 80 inches we got 40 inches over night plus at one point, we got 10 inches in 30 minutes. I had the flu but I went anyway and threw up off the lift. Regretfully, we didn't get any footy though because of my laziness and my desire to ski powder. Later that week, Tyrel Jacobs headed off to Big Mountain to ski and film. There weren't any jumps yet, but he got some nice rail footy. There is to much Showdown season stuff to mention, all I can say is we got sick footage of me, Joe Zander, Steve Clough, Sam Bullington, Ty Jacobs, Derek Reed, and others. The last weekend of January, me and Steve went to Bridger, but only got 2 rail shots from the parking lot because it was overcast the entire time but he should have a tape of footage that is decent for me to use. In mid March Steve, Ty, and me went to the H-Town Shootout at Great Divide to compete. My dad was filming from the side and the guys at Big Sky Board Sports were supposed to give me a copy of Ty’s run. Anyway Ty got second in the pro, Steve got first in 13 and under and I got 8th in whatever category I was in I think 13-18? I didn't totally lose I got a gnarly wreck of the double kink in my training run which caused me to hurt my back but you can see it in the teaser so that's cool. Then we hit Showdown until they closed in April. We also hiked it almost every weekend until mid May. Joe and me then went to Glacier park for two days in early June. After that Stephen, Chris Smith, Joe, and me went to All Stars Ski Camp for a week, but unfortunately my camera was broken so I borrowed this kids from Vermont and filmed with that but I haven't been able to get a hold of him for the footage. Maybe Kevin Miller will hook me up with his if Im lucky.
Since then Ive edited 3 trailers, all that have turned out crappy. Ive also been working and playing soccer so I haven't had much editing time. Ty has been to Great Falls twice so far to work on some editing. He has one more tape to bring over that should be good. Basically, Me, Joe, and Logan Rovreit (Crazy Logan) are going to continue the editing until probably late September when it’s hopefully done. There, sorry if you had to read all that, here are some screen shots:
