Dude, if you go to State you won't want to drive the hour to brighton for the shitty shitty conditions. So, basically if you love to ski and want to do it more than weekend trips and some overpriced days in ice I would pick a different school. Brighton is a garbage dump literally. I'm out in Whitler now but i normally go to MTU in the UP and I can ski everyday durring season at two different decent mountains...haha it's not Whistler but I'm on the snow doing what I love every day after class and that's more than you can say for just about any shcool around :)

i live 5 minutes from brighton and yeah it pretty much sucks
the jumps are bad but the rail selection is pretty good
u can build some pretty sweet jumps off the side of the yellow run. it has a great inclined landing

ummm... First of all it was not a garbage dump, it is where the builders would put their dirt when building homes around there, and second of all you are going to michigan state and chances are you wont be skiing you will be partying most of the time, and lastly(?) if you do end up skiing brighton is the closest gig to state so i say ski MT.B.

mt. brighton is not the greatest place to ski at all, but since it is the closest place you have, there isnt a whole lot of choice. the park is actually pretty large for how small the place is, but all the hits are small. but if i was in your shoes, i would just drive a little longer and hit up holly, their hits are a lot nicer and so are thier runs

i go to central. i usually take fridays and go to caberfae, no great park (but that is supposed to change) and with college ID it is super cheap mon wed and fri at 5pm tickets are $12 and every hour the price drops $1. it would be 2-2and a half hours for a trip for you, but the skiing is so much better than brighton. and crystal has college nights on thurs that about another half hour drive
