as we can all agree, we;re stuck in a catch 22 of sorts when the topic of recruiting more kids to the twin tip scene is concerned. on the one hand, we need more people involved so the funding will be there for events, trips, packages, and if your at this point in life, jobs that dont suck. on the other, theres dealing with lift lines, gromits who suck and the fact that when sports, music and somethings in general are ruined by the mere fact that they are accepted into the main stream.
that being the situation Im thinkin about, I want to put out in the open the idea that we ALL must start taking this shit for ourselves. Keep your eyes open for opportunity and take it. meet your reps, let them know your going to run things in your area. and then do it. if we let other people do this, it will be lost. Im applying my views of punk rock, and what I'm seeing on television under the same name. the two are not one in the same. If you dont know what Im talkin about, you werent meant to. that last sentence being paraphrased from the band THE EXPLOSION.
I guess the point of my rambling is that I dont see enough of the people involved in skiing doing to much more for the sport other than participating.
please feel free to tear this post apart. I like an argument from time to time.

that reminds me of something
....we were supposed to have a ski team at my school this year right, and we would fund it ourselves (instead of say, bastketball, where the school pays for it). only thing is, the people who wanted to have the team were too friggen cheap to pay for it. so, we will probably never have a ski team. my school doesnt support it, supposably not enough kids are intrested (even though about 20 kids showed up for the meeting we had last year).
racing and stuff like that is becoming more mainstream. but I dont know how much I want freeskiing and skiing in general to become mainstream. Its always a cool feeling to meet a chill skier (because they're few good skiers around here) so when you do it's like you already have something to connect about. but if skiing got like snowboarding, where there's kids who go boarding once then wear a burton sweatshirt and backpack for the rest of the year, then I wouldnt be happy. So I guess I like skiing where it's at right now, but it would be ok for it to get bigger. have the people who deserve more recogination get it. ok whatev I doubt that made sense

i dont want this sport to be huge because then it will atract posers and i dont like them. there are 23,000 people on this site and only 5,000 participate once a week. that shows how many people are doing something for the sport. you cant be a part of something if you do it once. you gotta do it repeatedly. like you cant call i yourself a progressor of the sport if you do it only a couple of times a year. you gotta do it almost every day.

Well fluff, it seems as if you got Sundown covered pretty nicely..... I am going to try and set up some events this year at Powder Ridge...
I gotta start calling them, getting in contact, talking so some sponsers etc... I wanna get a few rail sesh's.. because we all know the jumps blow unless they fix them...
Whats the best way I should go about this?

for sure the best way is to introduce yourself face to face. people connect and can see your sencarity better (spelling, sad for a college grad huh)_ anyways
thats how its done. persistance, and face time.
people love to hear from us, we are the future, they know that much.
