MSU has better skiing AND is a better school. Missoula deffinatly has a better night life and is more fun though. Its all about where your priorities are at, but I suggest msu.

MSU for sure..don't listen to the kids who will tell you that U of M has better skiing...they don't. MSU is a better school, and there is still a fair share of partying to be had in Bozeman...this is the place to be.

I agree with skywalker. I live in missoula and life is good. I went skiing at lolo pass recently and there was a ton of pow. I know there is really good skiing around Missoula and close too, you just have to be willing to either hike or ride a snowmobile to these spots.
Eventually I know that MIssoula will be much better than bozeman as far as the 'newschool' scene is concerned. The scene is just starting to hatch.

I've lived in bozeman most of my life, and I've never owned wranglers, chewed chewing tobacco, driven a pick-up truck, been within 100 feet of a farm animal, etc.

What sort of good education does U of M provide? Liberal Arts? Yeah that and handful of quarters will get ya a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger. MSU is one of the top engineering schools in the country, people come from all over the world to learn here. And it isn't just engineering...

Nice, I plan on majoring in either Bio- or Chemical Engineering, I think my desicion is made, unless U of M offers me some out of the world scholarship, which is very unlikely.

Bozeman was also one of the the first schools in the US to offer a 5 year program for a Masters in Architecture- and besides that, many other programs here are very respectable. The fact that the school has a few really good programs to begin with also means that all the other programs are going to be decent as well...just give it up, you guys lose.

There is no debate here, bozeman has MUCH better skiing. Bridger is 17 miles away, and bigsky is one of the best resorts in the nation. I seriously want to smack you.

shit, i could really care less where 'off-axis' attends school. But to say that big sky is one of the best resorts in the nation is completely far fetched.
What's the deal with you Bozeman peeps? You guys make up ALOT of bullshit!! Give up on your town, most of you are not even from Montana but feel that since you now live in Bozeman, it's the mecca for skiing.

No one ever said that Bozeman was the mecca for skiing, but compared to Missoula it sure as shit is. And give up on our town? What the fuck are you trying to say? Bozeman has more going for it than Missoula ever will. And don't bullshit me with 'the economy sucks' story, it's the same situation everywhere these days. And LMP- how much have you ridden Big Sky? Did it ever occor to you that, perhaps, the day you rode there, it was icy conditions? Every place has their bad days, but I can vouch for the fact that Big Sky is not icy the majority of the time. Overpriced, yes, but that's every resort these days. If you want good skiing and alot of it, then prepare to pay the price. I don't really see your arguments as valid.

you guys need to chill out about missoula. your honestly telling us the school sucks? its a freaking university not a community college. and if you want to brag about your schools strong programs, univ. of montana has one of the best photography programs and recreation managment programs. not that i really care, cause i moved down to park city to ride some respectible parks. plus missoula is super fun, why dont you go downtown for a night to see for yourself, and yes its okay if your 16, they dont care. the skiing is not bad, especially if you have a snowmobile. and i truly dont understand the hype about bridger, but thats cuase i hate hiking. but if you all want to use your legs to get to the goods, go for it, i'll stick to my sled.

man, the people that run the mountains in montana are either slackers or god damn hicks...there are no 'parks' to speak of throughout this whole state, at least that i know of. I have been at big mtn the last two days and there is great snow,
but not a rail in sight. It's pretty odd. Im sure they will set up something, but I dont know why they havent done shit yet...

you bozeman fucks are a bunch of fucking whiners. i know not even half of you actually grew up in montana, so if you wanted to ski youd have to make a trip to get to the mountain, why not make a 2 hour trip to big mountain? way the fuck better then big sky, believe me, ive skied both of them. as far as the social life goes, all my friends say bozeman blows, never shit to do, which some of them plan on coming to missoula next year just because there is jack shit to do in bozeman. and whats the big deal about all the homos in missoula? they stay away from you, so its not like they bug you unless your a homophobe. if your a true montanan and live in bozeman, your gauranteed to be a hick, and if your not from montana, then fuck off, you dont know shit about the area
