last wednesday night (jan 28) fortune had the pipe dragon in the parking lot, they had a trap, c, downkink, shotgun-gap-down rail (pure evil I might add. looked sick, the rails are to be skiabble by the 29th. Having skiied as a racer at fortune for years, I recognize the tremendous resources that they have at thier disposal to cater to thier target audience. Now that they are actually getting thier asses in gear, it seems to me that the ottawa scene should get out there and support thier efforts, ie. show them that there is a huge jib-scene, and subsequently encourage more build features. All the sutermans (owners) understand is green, so get out there and support it, dont hike it, when you do that, it hurts all of our causes. Blowing the amount of snow that they need for the pipe isn't cheap, all the chemicals and power that they need for the guns, runs them in the tens of thousands, so it isn't cheap. That said, fortune has some sick patrollers so dont knock them just to shun authority. The dude with the twin tip tele skis kills it. And the reason why fortune's food is soo expensive (and the reason that it's too risky to build a park) is because every weeknight 15 bus loads of jeans wearing, rear-entry rocking, starter coat representing, shit pants little kids get carted in en masse, they jack shit, break shit, and subsequently break themselves. The irresponsibility doesn't lie with the jibbers, in my opinion it lies with the owners! See you on the slopes,
