Snowboard= ski (singular version)

A snowboard is a super steezy device that is basically just one ski versus two skis (or planks). So every snowboard should just be called "A Ski" since it is a single plank of wood. For example:
"You ride Ski?"
"Hell yeah brother I only have one but I see you have two!"
"If you ride Ski then far out man"
"Hell yeah brother"

Real talk though--what the fuck is up with those snowboards that can be split into skis? Been seeing a lot more of them lately. Are they not the most gimmicky gaper bullshit to ever roll off a production line or what?

Maybe I'm just jealous... idk

No they need daddy .fry. to make a pb & jealous sammy cause they have to cut their ski from one(1) ski to make two (2) skis and then theyre not embarrassed to ride bc

Are you talking about a split board? If so I tend to agree if you want to mountaineer probably just learn to ski although touring in snowboard boots sounds like a dream

splitboards are actually pretty cool, I have a bunch of friends who are rad on snowboards but not great skiers so them having splits lets us get into the backcountry together

I would talk to Alta ops people, they are the definitive authority on the subject. Also how tf has no one in this thread ever heard of a splitboard?

Maybe they’re more of a west coast thing?

I’m on the east coast and I swear I saw my first example this season. Might have seen a few in the past and never really cared enough to give them a second glance.

Saw one of these for the first time at my local this year too. Was surprised they were allowed to get on the lift.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone actually riding a split board either. Have only seen them on the rack.

one time i was getting coffee on my way to the mountain and the cashier asked if i snowboard or ski.

for some reason i said “i ride two” like some dumb fuck… will probably never forget that encounter

The amount of times I get asked if I am a skier in my line "I am a skier" shirts (I have 5) is insane.
