steez_apprenticeI have the same issue. My best advice that I've been doing is analyzing what you're doing in your clips, (landings, switch stance, literally all the motions) and then analyze what some of your favorite skiers do. Compare what they do versus what you do, then adjust what you notice you might be doing compared to what you think looks cool.
carsonpipsLittle newer to park (2 season) but swear everytime someone gets a clip of me I’m thinking I went big on a jump or hit a rail nice but it ends up looking like shit, arms look dumb feet look off balanced. Honestly when I get home and watch em I just get all pissed off thinking wow I’m really fuckin shit. When I see people hit jumps it’s super clean you guys got any tips it would be greatly appreciated.
X_ANKILLAPark skiing is not something you learn overnight. It's a longterm skill. I didn't make edits for the same reason until I had been skiing park for almost 5 years. Every clip looked retarded. But after so many seasons of experience I naturally started to become organized in my movement. So just watch videos of the skiers you look up to and when skiing try to emulate them to the best of your ability. Do that long enough and you'll begin to see the change.
I always wanted to ski like Dollo. So I watched movie after movie, edit after edit. When I went skiing I'd imagine I was him in my head. Now 17 years deep into Park, BDog, Jon Brogan, and Mike Hornbeck have all complimented my skiing. So what you want is achievable it's just complicated by time and experience.
carsonpipsLove Pete Koukov’s style so helped a bunch this weekend just copying what he’s doin on rails and jumps etc gonna put the phone down for at least a few seasons lol hopefully things pick up from here and I can start throwin some clips thanks man
X_ANKILLAGood shit bruh. I highly suggest downloading some of his edits and scrubbing frame by frame through his clips to see his stance and how he's moving through his tricks. You can learn a lot that way. because just like him you have the same 2 arms 2 legs and body, so if you mimic his body positions you too can do what he does.
NibbletinkerI like to emulate Xankilla when I ski... I even started analyzing the smoke stacks on auchwitz, doesn't line up man.
Nibbletinkeryou... you have to film and review; review review review. And do it over... I like to get local lil guys, to film for me.
I just ask them to for their instagram... then they can send the clips... Make alot of freinds like this
SmokedGoudaWeird take but ive been enjoying watching a lot of pov vids. Feel like ive been going bigger and more comfortably since seeing what everyone else sees when they go off a feature, jump, lip etc.
MixyGoPro effect makes this 70 ft cat track launch seem very doable... Maybe I'll send this weekend...
