I need to say it, I'm sorry... I'm prepared for the flames
you do not need Pivot 18's.... It's insane how many kids who weigh like 150lb maximum I see on my midwest hill rocking 18's. like homie ur not gonna accidentally eject even if you were on Squires I promise you
Y'all be turning your light park skis into boats for no reason other than the clout of being on a pivot 18, those things are chunnnnnky
Im talking as un-biased as possible because I live and die by the STH... and I know Pivots look sexy as fuck, objectively best looking binding ever, they got hella reputation and they have saved a lot of knees, people swear by them, thats all common knowledge, but does that mean you need to automatically go for the 18's?? Like if ur a lightweight what benefit does having the 18 even have? do all the safety features even matter if you're riding a binding thats way too much??
like seriously are the 15's not enough for the majority of park riding??? the 15 is still a damn heavy binding too, and is more than capable of big big shit. I have Attack 16's on my pow skis, I drop cliffs when they are available and take it big when I got pow, i'm like 160lbs and still feel like I don't need that much din...
like I feel the 18 is meant for big air X games type shit, FWT, speedy ass euro carvers on pure vert ice...
the 18 is for people like Jesper and Andrei... not fuckin Braxxtyyn from Wisconsin on his Bdogs hitting a 65 footer at the absolute max
This isn't even an anti Look rant, I rode p12's for a season and dont have anything to bitch about. Pivots are a great binding, I wouldn't complain if I bought a set of used skis that had pivots on them.
Yea there are plenty of other options I'd personally prefer over the Pivot like the STH2 or the Strive. Hell even Tyroliahhh, sometimes Marker even (I'm a marker hater too). But the point is that the average park rider does not have the need and probably won't have the need for a Pivot 18, like I promise you the 12 or 15 is absolutely enough for you
I may be uneducated or ignorant, sue me, hate me, shoot me, but most of y'all do not need that much din lol. Like if you genuinely feel you need the 18, you know its the right binding for you, and ur gonna really make the most of it I am not gonna hate or tell you not to its your game cuz you are definitely a better skier than I am.
Light bindings are the shit and thats just my opinion.
