skiP.E.I.I'd say they are similar to Moments. You will eventually get edge cracks and lose some pieces of edge with typical park abuse. The skis will break in nicely after a few weeks and soften up a bit.
KilaTsunamiHell fucking yea they are. They also got a 3 year warranty that covers edge cracks even on rails.
je_t.aime_canardi think that's what might settle it for me, i knew i wanted to support an independent ski company for my next pair, and i think the durability and warranty is what will settle it for me
KilaTsunamiIt's a no brainer!
je_t.aime_canardwas looking to get the icelantic nomad 100s for use in park, bc i'm currently using my bent 110s which i'd prefer not to fuck up for use in freeride. I've heard they're pretty well built, but i wanna get a ski that can handle a lot of abuse on rails, like are they as durable as Moments?
V2112Tried for a warranty at this point but I got denied because I didn’t “register” them when I got them.
quagsireHaving worked at a shop that sold Icelantic for a bunch of years, they always talked up their durability and warranty, but personally I've seen pretty mixed things. Their topsheet durability was pretty bad with the old full sandwich construction, but that may have improved since moving to a semi-cap. Also their cores are hella soft, mounting them feels like drilling into warm butter. They'll also lose their camber within like two weeks and become basically full rocker, which could be a good or bad thing for you depending what you're looking for.
SlowbroIn my experience they’re durable. I posted a review on here in the fall. 15 days on them with no edge damage and I’m a rail skier.
I’ve had RMUs from the same factory that lasted a long time as well
je_t.aime_canardcan't speak for the rest of the issues, but they are very explicit about needing to register your skis within 30 days of arrival. I think most of your issues would've been sorted if that was done. It's likely to verify that you're a first party purchaser and haven't bought fucked up skis from someone else and trying to posture them as a different pair
je_t.aime_canardi love that smashing pumpkins tee you've got on in the review
V2112Bought them directly from Icelantic and was unaware of having to register them. Just wish they would have included some info about having to register them on the box or in an email after I bought them. Overall is what it is.
