Fat skis for firm days?

So ive been skiing on the dynastar m free 108s for a couple seasons now and so far so good, but a part of me misses the more stiff feeling of my old mindbender 108s that would rip on the more sketchy days but im in the market now for something completely new. One of the options ive been circling around….I like the black topsheet(lol) are last years armada declivity 102s or 108s. Blister gave the 102 a rave review, but im curious about all of the options. Being able to whip hard in the bumps but in a fat ski is a priority. Also how many days until you really start feeling edge degredation. Dont know what it is with the dynastars, but their edges just dont seem to last. Also glazed a bit over the nordica enforcers, but any input would be great! Id probably look at the mid 180s in terms of length in any given ski.

If you want a true fat ski that rips get a rossi sender free 118. Big boy ski.
Have also heard very good things about the new declivity 108, but every freeride ski that has metal in it will be up your alley imo. Just try and find rocker profiles and a mount point that is similar to what you want (blister has all that stuff).
Stuff like blizzad rustlers 10/11, salomon qst 106/blank... Also weight will play a big part heavy ski = more crud busting potential but will require more effort. Many brands are making good skis in this area.

Enforcer frees fuck hard. I've had my 110's for like 4 seasons and despite losing a decent amount of stiffness they still dig pretty hard into the ice. It seems the 'unleashed' series has a little less metal but I can't imagine they'd rail ice any less. Sucks they don't have the 'free' anymore tho.

The enforcer free 110's rail ice significantly better than my menace 98's for reference.

Yeah I still plan to use the dynastars because they absolutely slay in the pow even on deep days, but apart from that, I felt like skis with more metal in them just handled firm days better. Remember just hopping bump trofts all the time in my mindbenders, but the dynastars felt more planted to the ground or the energy required to air turns was more intensive. But also mindbender top sheets are weird.

Yeah I might seriously look into the free 104s as well.

I love my m free 108s but fully agree the edges don't hold up very well. It's definitely exacerbated by their fairly short effective edge, but it also seems like I can never keep them sharp despite not hitting rails on them. Shame because they carve pretty decent otherwise. I wonder if the new model is improved at all?

Pretty much only rode the moment countach 110 everyday for the past 2 years, shit grips and rips on the firm. I feel like in general for this category look for something with more camber in its profile, effective edge=train tracks

Yeah 118 might be too fat though for bullet proof snow haha… i kinda prefer the more playful skis for when its deep. Just overall enjoy a wider platform regardless of conditions.

Tbh the ski handles it pretty well, but the extra width is hard on your knees

Not at the moment but have before and all I can say is how fucking sick the optics are, from the worst to the best conditions they fucking rip their stable chargeable but super manageable at low speeds and snappy idk I luv em

Fingers crossed they got some available when they drop next years and I can cop em on sale then the profile and mount point is exactly what I want
