LOL, it sounds like someone has no clue who Hackel is. Look up Eat the guts (HG). Dude is a core piece of the urban scene's history; dude rode for HG with others like franchino.

Objectively- he hosts events (hike & hang, 1000 tour, video premieres), creates long form videos and movies in the past, sponsors athletes (via 1000) and must genuinely loves skiing considering he’s dedicated his life to it.
Aside from that I also have had the pleasure of considering him a great friend for a long time. Do I love everything he posts on the internet? No. That’s fine cause it wasn’t made for me. Do I love him and many of things he does? Yes and I find it pretty easy to seperate my opinion of him from the reels feed in Instagram.

You gotta understand how LITTLE skiers make these days. At the top of the top, people like AHall with that monclizzy sponsorship he's probably in the 6 figures a year but on the low end of that. Most skiers do this shit full time and if you wanna ski full time you best believe you have to market your brains out to make it. I saw Goepper post about how much he made in a year of competing, placing top 5 4 times in competitions, and he made 8 grand. THATS INSANE to think about.

This is either bait or you genuinely have no idea what alex has done for skiing. He’s spreading stoke on a wide scale now at the end of the day and has had an incredible innovative influence since well before you probably started skiing through many sick works of art you’ve never even heard of.

Alex hackel is such a cool guy had the pleasure to meet him at hike and hang this year and I could see how someone might not like him if they just scroll on Instagram all day because it’s pretty corny but he’s got to make a living and he definitely is. He’s living his dream life skiing through that media so I’m fine if he keeps forcing it down. Would like to see another street part though. ASAP.

Reconsider absolutely trying to denigrate the entirety of someone’s being because you don’t like their instagrams posts (that your algorithm is showing you).
Even today Hackel does tons of incredible things, not just back in the day. I selfishly want him to hit more spots and film a street vid but I can’t be mad at bro when he’s getting doing freeride comps, traveling to Chile for some cultural celebrations, or posting up in Park city to film a host a contest for his YouTube channel.
2chainz is my absolute favorite rapper. His last album was kinda trash in my opinion. I dont hate on 2 chainz for that. I just listen to the music I like instead.
After Eat The Guts you can watch “color”, “El Nour”, and “Love you too” from The bunch. He has 2 x games real streets as well incase if you missed those. Or don’t watch em. Eitherway there is a whole internet of content out there for you to watch things you like.

If you're talking about Sensus, there's no AI they actually did the renderings. I thought it was AI at first too. Idk I thought it was actually a super interesting movie it was dope to see on a big screen. wish they put it out for free now since it's been a while since it was released
He totally benefits skiing and doesn’t ruin it like you’re saying. He is bringing more people into the industry and I wish that more people knew about who he is as a skier. Most of the younger generation don’t even know about his video parts and I didn’t know when I was younger. I respect him so much as a skier and he gets way too much hate.

I agree with you that his current state is not the best. not very steezy and his ski brand is pretty shit. But you cant deny that in his prime he had some of the best urban parts OAT. Love or hate him, at the end of the day hes done more for freeskiing that pretty much anyone on this platform lol.

Im sure sensus is just as boring though. legitimately if you enjoy these faux artsy ski movies I'm gonna judge you, these movies are 10x worse than corporate ski films (TGR, blank collective, etc)

The basis of your hatred is stemming from consuming 30 second videos that you are choosing to watch. Don't like it? Just swipe up dawg. Yeah, Hackel might not be making a videos that appeal to you, or the "core" ski community, you know what he is doing? finding a way to fully support himself solely based off of ski content. Used to not be down with it but absolutely cannot hate on someone living the dream & finding a way to make ends meet.
Another prime example: KJ Read. corny as hell, personally his reels aren't my cup of tea, but you know what? He gets to travel around skiing wherever the snow is good, get free skis from atomic, and all he has to do is record corny videos of a few runs each day. Pretty awesome gig if you ask me.
although i disagree with OP, i can get that it’s a little strange to see a ski legend who has done much for skiing doing a complete 180 to being the biggest short-form-trash-content creator. seems like the whole the bunch crew had a choice to make. Either to stay true to their art or assuring their financial future and safety. They made their choice and you can’t do anything but accept it. Some skiers make different choices and end up working minimum wage jobs or getting degrees and moving on like LJ did. Right now I live in my car, skiing everyday, i do it for the love. But you as you get older things change, I presume.
