hi guys!
i am currently using Volkl Deacon 79 177cm as frontside skis as my daily driver. Im 185cm and 175lbs. Advanced skier but not expert. Can comfortably do diamonds and somewhat alright with double diamonds...
i grew up in the east coast mountains up here in Canada and used to venture the glades a lot when i was younger. i'd like to get back into it but i'm having ENORMOUS difficulty with these stiff skis. The trees are narrow and the bumps/dips are very small making it difficult to really properly dig into the dips with these Deacons.
After doing quite a bit of research, I've concluded that I should end up with some Armada ARVs (either 94 (2024, 2025) or 96 (2023)). I'm looking for something with good maneuverability, poppy, playful to have some fun on the mountain and certainly do not want to regret my purchase.
I found these Armada ARV 96 (2023) 178 cm with marker griffon 13 that were only used for 2 runs (not 2 days, literally 2 runs) that i was able to negotiate down to 550 CAD (380 USD) from 750 CAD. Do you think these are a good set of skis for this price and a good length for tight bumps, moguls and medium jumps? Or should I absolutely go for the 183cm in length instead? Only ARV 94s available at 183cm and they're at full price here in Canada at 750 CAD + tax without the bindings.
Thank you so much!
