I am a freshman in high school, and the winter dance is coming up, so I asked my girlfriend if she would want to go with me, and she said yes. I've never been to a dance before so I need to know what to expect. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Am a 30+ year old with mind of a 12yo from head injuries probably so it feels criminally negligent to say probably just do a copious amount of drugs and research chemicals

Idk because of the time because I went from being 12 to 30+ all the sudden. But a lot of damces were just people kinda chillin and talking and occasionally dancing. The fact that you're gf is down to go means you have someone for the slow songs lined up.
I prolly went to more in middle school and Junior high because there was nothing else to do in my tiny rural town. Went to HS in a way bigger town. Only went to some of the dances.
Idk, shit can be weird, it's really not that bad but I get the anxiety. Should be chill. Don't stress it too much and you'll have fun.
Also a freshman and went to my first this year, didn’t go with anyone so it was kinda boring and I was hanging out with my friends (I go to an all boys school which prob didn’t help) but if you have a date should be pretty fun

your girlfriend's your date so you're all set there, just go and have fun man! i understand how people can get anxious about these things when you're young but i promise it's no big deal at all. and dancing in a social setting is truly as simple as having fun and not being overly self conscious, just relax and enjoy the music and your date/friends dude
