you’d be suprised but wearing a different pair of socks to the mountain then changing into wool ski socks right before u boot up will make a difference.

yeah thats something to consider. ig it just seems like a hassle to change socks, ill give it a shot next time though

they don't really get wet, but all my gear hangs out in the basement to dry for the next odd week until i can ski again

webuhon colder days, my toes have been getting cold. i wear heavy ski socks, but apart from this im not really sure what i should do. toe/foot warmers always feel uncomfortable. my dad told me about this things called bootcaps, but they kinda seem like bullshit. any ideas, or should i just suck it up?

bootcaps are pretty sick, probably the cheapest thing you could try so i'd give it a go

my sister's feet are always super cold and she's found that heated socks and boot heaters help a lot

you’re boot needs to be tight but not too tight. if your socks are too thick and you’re too packed into the liner, you’re not gonna get good blood flow and release the oxygen out of your extremities (obviously at a significantly less rate than exhaling lol) classic mistake is people say oh its gonna be cold, better get a thick sock and it essentially just clogs things up and makes it colder.

boot gloves will insulate and help keep warm and are valid. i would for sure prioritize fit first and then move on to boot gloves and then consider a battery pack boot warmer.

whatever you do, avoid frostbite. once you have nerve damage, you’re fucked beyond the point of return. you will get cold much quicker and it will fuckin suck. usually i joke and call people a lil bitch about things but not when it comes to frostbite. much more frequently its people pushing through and making things worse when they should have adjusted.
