I am looking into getting some pivot bindings because I haven't heard anything bad about them and everyone I know that has them says they love them. I have heard they are a bit heavy so I was just curious what the lightest model is and weather you'd recommend these for park laps?

pivot 12s and 14s are made of plastic, so they are lighter than the other models, but it does sacrifice a lot of durability. i think that durability is the biggest issue that comes with pivots but if your willing to make the trade off with cost and weight, then I would definitely recommend 15s depending on how much you weigh

I really appreciate the info, I weigh 140 do you still think they would work? Also will the weight of these have much effect on my skiing?

the weight of the binding is noticeable, but I don't really think It has much effect on skiing. (i have skied the same ski with both 12s and 15s on them).140 Is a little light for 15s. I'm 190 and still skiing 12s. my dins are set to 9. 15s is definitely overkill for you, but if you have the extra money, and care a lot about the durability then I say go for it. might want to pick up the fork a little bit though.

I really appreciate all of this, definitely going to put it into consideration.
Get 12s. Also note that there isn't a whole lot of adjustment for different boot sizes once theyre mounted. So make sure your boots are fitted nice and ur not growing anymore.
they have their pros and cons like any binding but they remain the gold standard for bindings. yeah they're a bit heavier than others but that doesn't have much of an effect in downhill and park skiing
the 12s and 14s have the plastic toes (which still work great; it's what i use these days) and the 15s and 18s have the metal toes which are heavier but even more durable. they all have the same heelpieces (except for different springs inside for different DIN ranges)
if you find a good deal you're getting one of the most popular bindings in the skiing world. but you can also definitely consider some tyrolia attacks (cheaper, lighter) or salomon STH or Strives (super solid middle ground bindings)

and yeah this. the 12s would be the best fit for you, and yeah pivots don't have much adjustment range once theyre mounted
PartyBullshiitYes multiple. What size skis are they going on?
Also I guess this is a follow up question, I am looking at surface royales for next season as a 5,11 140 pound rider. Hoping for something soft and playful for the park, would this be fitting?
Sorry I was asking about width. Pivots come in a 75,95,105,115 and 130 brake width. So depending on how wide your ski is would decide which width brakes you’re using. This is applicable with any bindings for that matter. They all in different brake widths.

95% chance he needs 95s
OP pivots are good. 14s have a plastic toe and 15s have a metal toe. Both will be plenty for what you need, 12s are probably fine too. Plastic toes will be a little lighter, but also wont last forever like the metal toes do. Personally I don't think much about weight when looking at bindings. Swing weight wont be affected much, and it doesn't take long to adjust to a heavier setup
Yea they are the heaviest binding on the market so yes the weight will make a difference especially at your body weight. It’s enough of a difference that even Harlaut switched from the 15 to the 14 which is plastic. If your heart is set on Pivots I’d go with the Pivot 14 for the lighter weight but I’d spend half the money on Tyrolia Attack 14’s and get better performance (lighter weight, lower stack height).

You’ve already been told this with your last three accounts. Harlaut uses custom 16’s. Not 14’s. Stop spreading misinformation
The DIN he’s using is irrelevant. DIN is calculated based off weight, height, skill level, and BSL all of which are different for everybody. I don’t care even if Harlaut was using a custom 25 DIN binding. It’s irrelevant. He’s a better skier than me and a different body shape. Id never copy his DIN setting.
i am surprised you don’t know this but then again every picture you post of your ski “collection” would indicate you’re more of a collector than a skier based on how brand new your skis always look

It’s very relevant. You’re saying he’s using a pivot 14. He is not. He has a custom built 16. Facts matter. You’d think by now you’d learn this but based off your 5th banned again I guess not. You must be going for ban #6.
Not relevant at all because OP can’t buy a pivot 16.

When you make a claim literally the only thing relevant is the facts. You claimed he rides 14’s. He factually does not. The only irrelevant thing is your opinion. Your opinion is what’s got you banned so many times from this site.
Personally I don't like pivots, I just got pivot 15s this szn and they constantly are a struggle to get in and out, once in I have no problems. I've always rode marker griffons and never had any problems.
