Windells is definitely better for sure. They have a better dry land training and coaches. It’s better in every aspect.

Based on my experience and observations of riding Hood in the summer, MHSSC coaches appear more engaged and excited to be working with campers, while Windells coaches seem to be more burnt out and often express frustration about being underpaid. I understand this comes off as a big generalization, so I apologize to any Windells coaches who are stoked on coaching and are in it for obvious reasons: riding Hood in the summer.

windells coaches are pretty burnt out and don’t really do much coaching throughout the day. They just take hot laps and bitch about not making any money.


Who cares about the windells campus, you’re going to hood to ski, not bounce on tramps.

when my friends did MHSSC their coaches just went off and skied on their own while they kinda did their own thing but that was like 5 years ago

I worked on park crew at hood this past summer and saw everything going down.


mhssc coaches were always filming/coaching/skiing with their campers.


can’t tell you how many times a windells camper came up to me looking for their coach.

Definitely do it dude! Not sure on the price difference but I know both camps have some decent people involved.

Mazzi and A Parry are definitely both super involved over at MHSSC and from what it looks like they are hyped on just having fun and getting the youth into the sport we love. Don't get me wrong I'm sure if you're super focused on progression these guys would love to take that approach as well. Not sure what the afters look like back at camp, definitely a bit less of a setup than Windells has but like I said I think they will be more involved in whatever you're up to.

If you're looking to meet a ton of people and really focus on progression through tramp work and do some skateboarding / hit the dry slope maybe check out Windells. Either way summer camp at hood is bound to be an awesome experience. Summer camps in general are super worth it even with the price tag as you can really meet some life long friends and even mentors.

Another option for you would be the Copper Mountain summer camp. Not super sure how this works but I know I had a couple buddies who did a week or so out there , learned some flip tricks, and within two seasons both of em are doing dubs.

Went to MHSSC summer of 2012. A lot has probably changed since then, but couldn't recommend it enough. All the groups kinda blended together and we'd hike rails, session jumps, etc as a big crew. Coach Nolan even took us into the side country to scope some booter sessions. The off-snow stuff was a lot of trampoline sessions, mini ramp, a rafting trip, etc. No dry slope at the time, but I remember not feeling like we missed out by not doing 50 extra k-feds a day.

It's totally worth it no matter what your skill level is!
I haven't been to MHSSC but have been to Windells and Momentum (in Canada) for adult summer ski camps in the past . Expensive as heck but worth it for the experience and quite a vacation!
Of all mentioned I believe MHSSC costs the least. Momentum was the most expensive for sure! I'm waiting to see what they release for this summers dates and prices. Windells went up a lot this year.

Windells sucks. Coaches don't give a fuck, some can't even 3 on baby jumps, they have 1 tramp to every 500 campers, dog food meals, long ass drive to and from the snow, campers are forbidden (by windells) to hit ftc airbag without a coach.
