SofaKingSicknot a golfer but just a thought-- an easier/less ambitious idea could be to just grab a small piece of fake grass and you can throw that down wherever in your backyard to shoot off of and set up a bucket as a target to practice your irons

hb_lazalso just a bit of golf knowledge. i think your referring to wedges rather than irons. wedges are used for short-ranged shots, whereas irons are for mid-long range shots. you should try to get into golf. it was one of the best decisions of my relatively short life so far. its also not as expensive as people make it out to be. used clubs are really easy to find.
hb_lazi am feinding for golf rn, i just got a bunch up golf stuff for xmas and I also just want to keep my game up. i was thinking about setting up a hitting net in my garage, and was wondering if anybody has experience with it. i know there are hitting nets you can buy, but most are way overpriced. if I just set up a net and hitting mat will I be good? are there any ball tracking thingamajigs for not that much?

Young_pattyI grew up in Minneapolis and my parents house was situated on a janky shaped block so our backyard was ~100 yards long. When I was little I used to be able to crack balls into my backyard, but as I grew up more and more balls ended up in my neighbors backyard…
Solution for that- and maybe for you:
foam golf balls.
Sounds stupid but they absorb a ton of the power and don’t go far because they’re so light, plus they can’t even break a window. maybe just get some of those and crack some irons in your backyard? Tbh even with a driver those things never left my backyard.
eheathHit up your local golf sim, by far the best way to golf in the winter.
hb_lazthat gets expencive, and i also have to travel. making something in the garage is the cheapest and most feasible way to do it.
