Looking for some wider all mtn freeride skis

I'm looking for a wider all mtn freeride ski, something mid 100's. Ide like something light and playful that i can spin of nature features but it stable and supportive for cliffs and all different kinds of conditions. I'm 5'7 around 125 pbs

IMO if you want something stable and supportive for bigger cliffs and going fast in choppy conditions you need a stiffer ski, which will sacrifice playfulness a bit.


I think baseline for free ride a stiff ski is important. Then if you want more “playfulness” get a more rockered profile like the ON3P Jeffery’s. More rocker means less effective edge, thus easier to pivot the ski faster and also get weight on the tips / tails. If you want a true charger ski for big lines and serious skiing, less rocker is the way. It gives you more effective edge which reduces chatter at higher speeds and provides a bigger platform for stomping cliffs.

all about finding that balance for the terrain you are skiing and your style of riding

Our Pioneer could be a good fit for you, mid 100s, 1.7kg/ski, softer tip and tail but much stiffer underfoot for stability. Well balanced with a light swing-weight for spinning. Deep twin taper for soft snow and a pretty high camber for suspension & energy for hardpack/variable snow.
At 5'7 and 125lbs I'd say the 175cm (true length, like everyone else's 178/179) would be best for you, especially if you're not in a place with big big mountains.

I was thinking abt ON3P jeff 108 armada arv 106 or volkl revolt 104 are those stiff and stable enough to hit some bigger cliffs

Jeffs and ARVs can definitely hold up to some cliff hucking. Revolt 104s are notably softer.

Meridians are not great in all conditions. They absolutely hate super firm icy snow. Instantly go from fun to clenching your butt and praying for the best. As much as I love mine I wouldn’t recommend them to someone looking for a do it all ski.

4frnt dev is my favorite ski. Takes a couple days to get used to but they are super super fun
