Easy mogul fields

what the fuck ever happened to easy mogul fields. i'd like to get into mogul skiing more, just to add it as a skill, but every fucking mogul field is on Anaconda's Asshole, a quadruple black diamond (green at my home mountain tho). how am i meant to start something if there is no beginner option.

All the moguls are deformed recently. Impossible to actually ski them fast, like what kind of secret terror skiers are creating the weird moguls??

your resort probably didn’t store them properly or perhaps they are out dated and in need of replacement. my suggestion would be to stop being a lil bitch and go ski them big boy moguls as much as you can.

no but seriously, you can find relatively mellow mogul fields on the sides of groomers here and there, next to trees. sometimes they’re basically just chop piles but you can train weavint thru those like moguls if the real things are giving you trouble

Moguls simply just dont really form on really mellow terrain and the bumps on shallow to mid blues depending on run access get incredibly small, sawed off and horribly sloppy. As long as you actually full send the bumps and really confident, then the perfect bump runs would be a typical black out west and a lot of double blacks too…however many of those get too steep to where bumps just dont form. and its perfectly fine to have shitty bump laps and feel good ones as well. Always a matter of attacking with ease or slowing down and stiffening up….or just completely forgoing any technique you know you hae(those laps kinda suck). Its never a bad idea to warm up a lil bit and lap em a lot. All sorts of bump runs to to add some variability.

This fully! Sometimes they get too steep for bumps. Other times they can be steep chutes with hop turn bumps. A mellow pop on turns can make skiing bumps on longer skis much easier.

They're only hard if it's not steep. Drag your uphill ski over the bump to slow down.

the mogul courses at my local are open to the public aside from the jumps. The ones for B mogul events are pretty mellow.

Skiing moguls is practicing the fundamentals. Drill drill drill drill drill, it's worth it :)

We used to build to sets of tight rollers offset for people to train moguls. I don't think I ever hit them but they seemed to lbe using em so I guess they worked ok

I was just thinking the other day how much different some steeper runs are. Big bumps, meaning like you could stand in the trough below the mogul and the top of it towers over your head.

I think it's from boarders side slipping them at least at my hill. 90% are totally jacked.

A lot of times too more beginners will make really small erratic turns so they become almost like skidding in a boulder field. Or so jagged that theres no flow. Small bumps suck.

Erratic, no flow pretty much sums up most of the moguls I ski. You'll go from one trough that's shallow and rounded to another that's super deep and shaped like a trench. Sucks most of the time.
