Sidecountry at the Beav

Intending to do some side country at Beaver Creek as Stone Creek may open up soon, and Y chutes also could be nice. Have skied Stone before but not a ton. Is full backcountry gear super necessary (beacon, shovel, airbag, etc.) for this type of sidecountry?
