I’m finally seeing the light and thinking about a 2 ski quiver. One in the 88 range for carving all mountain and another for touring, the elusive east coast powder at the resort, and visiting my friend out west once a year or so, maybe playing around in some light snow or spring slush too. For this bigger ski setup I’m kind of torn on which way to go, I’ve been looking into Moments for a while but completely open to other options as well. I used to be on Nordica Soulriders in a 169 that was a good length for me, I’m currently on older Parlor 95 kingfishers I think (it was an Instagram giveaway so I’m not sure which model) in a 172. They’re amazing skis but at 5’2 and 150 lbs, I’m looking for something I can swing around just a little quicker in the trees but also long enough to float in powder. With the soulriders I enjoyed having the twinned tail to pivot quickly in the woods and go into a variety of fun turn shapes from carve to zipping through powder stashes on the side of the trail, did not love the Nordica nosedive in powder.
Would a 164 in what seems to be a twin and larger rocker profile work with one of the Moments or would that shorten it up too much? And should I even consider the wildcat 101, seems like a good overall width but a little heavier if I’m doing some touring (it’d probably be 60/40 touring and resort powder I guess). I ski a lot at Brandon Gap and want to get into some hut trips in VT and the Granite Backcountry areas with these skis. Also I’d take them out to ski Berthauds Pass when I visit out in Colorado but I’m not going on any other super serious backcountry trips. Thanks in advance and totally throw out some other options as well!
