Some idiot cut in front of me but they're claiming it is my fault. This is some bullshit and no one believes me. I'm being made to pay the deductible even though it's not my car and was an accident. The cop was a complete asshole. I might have to sell my skis idk what to do. On Christmas eve of all days.
What happened exactly? Yeah accidents can be tricky. I have no idea what happened but can be tough. People definitely will lie sometimes.
Hopefully it works out. Also in the future def helps to assume everyone is clueless on the road and drive accordingly. I've driven a ton of miles and seen amazingly sketchy shit from time to time.
Hopefully your insurance doesn't jack up too bad. Might though because you're young.

Good advice but honestly he's fucked. He's been in multiple crashes already and now just totaled a range rover all at the age of 18. Honestly doubt anyone insures him at this point. If they do it's going to be a garbage company at astronomical rates.

Hope his parents were carrying liability insurance on that car. If he was found at fault high likelihood the people who see a Range Rover, get an attorney and claim injuries.
File a request with the highway department or local police department for any traffic cam footage in the area of the crash. Stingy insurance can’t argue with video evidence.
I used red light cameras to show the driver who hit me was at fault when I got T-boned this past summer.

my parents drive mostly acura‘s and hondas. But when i was little we had a land cruiser and a disco, would love to get back into either of them

while at school all i really do is us my car to get to the boat house, wegmans, or liquor store and back! At home i’ve just been zipping between a condo in Ellicottville and home, mostly to work! I also took a defensive driving course for my insurance last accident in march. Hoping to buy my own car this summer and not just drive what my parents got me! I’d like to take a step towards some independence esp if i’m doing summer research or clinical experience somewhere, my own car will be a good step to that! Probably a outback or xc70, as much as i’d like a tacoma it’s not practical or super affordable outta my own pocket

Your dad being buddies with the agent has absolutely zero bearing. Coverage is ran by algorithms with your age, sex and driving history. If the algorithm decides you’re high risk you’re dropped. Period. Buddy or not. Your dad’s buddy is not the one insuring you. It’s the carrier.
