Fun carve ski

I’ve been looking to get a a ski not for park.
ive been looking at the J skis Fastforward, 1000 carve and armada kimbo.

im 6,2, 175lbs
little worried that the 1000 carve and kimbo won’t be long enough.

The nexus is stupid fun to carve, got a used pair this season and am liking them. Think I would want the 183 or 189 over the 177s I picked up but so far as a fun mess around ski they are great

My favorite two are the line blade and the mantra m7. Both carve so well and are both certainly more fun than going for a full on euro carve ski. The mantra is going to be more versatile but the blade is a super fun weird ski.

I have the fast forwards and I’m essentially the same build as you. Super fun ski and grips pretty well on icier conditions. Exclusively skiing hardpack hits with it right now and it performs great

I would just pick up a proper carving ski for cheap rather than get one of these “fun shape” skis personally, skis with a sub 80 waist absolutely rip the carves. Hate skis like the blade it’s just a carving ski that is slow af edge to edge

get the 189s. Im 5'9 and the 177 is sorta short with the super centered mount, still really fun but I think it would be nice to get a little more ski in front of me

THANK YOU I was too afraid to say it. Most people have no idea how to properly ski a race ski though.

Park dudes are just scared that if they ride a real carving ski they will actually like it and have an identity crisis

This man is correct. I bought some Atomic S9 awhile ago. No need to settle for imitations, nothing carves like the real thing.

Slalom skis are great but the guy that posted this clearly doesn’t want a slalom ski. All the skis he was looking at are all mountain twintipish things with more emphasis on making a good turn.

I think he does he’s just scared of looking like a dad, which is the whole reason “fun shape” skis exist lol

All the fun shape skis are way more versatile than a slalom ski at the expense of carve performance but you get a ski you can use across more conditions
