Backyard mini setup. Last minute

Made a last minute backyard PVC pipe slide. It finally got cold enough in CT and made a few runs to the local ice rink and bought a pipe at Home Depot. I’m pretty stoked that I’m 46 and finally learned and also my son did too.

being on your skis at all and especially getting sideways with def make you better suited for hitting rails at your local. and you can practice going to forward or going to switch and start to get the mechanics of it. i would recommend building the rail upwards so you can use your skis to set rotations but this is a great start!!

This is so hard core I love it, it will forsure make sliding boxes and tube's easier I learned on tube's first but lots of people think boxes are easier just hike hike hike and have fun!!

dude love it. and yeah, just like for beginners, backyard rails (are core as fuck and) will help you guys learn like crazy. only thing i'd mention is that park rails are sometimes not as smooth/slick as PVC but that's minor. backyard PVC is 50% of how i learned rails as a youngster... in fact maybe i should set one up now to get my washed up ass back into form..!

love to see it! I think you'll pick it up pretty quickly, I like to think of hitting rails as imagining jumping onto a skateboard. You'll continue going as fast as you were going, and you'll wanna keep your head/shoulders/hips/knees/feet all aligned. Don't try to edge on the rail - keep your skis flat, and you got it

Awesome guys! Just got 3 more truckloads of snow adding a small drop in and longer PVC pipe and probably a lil hip at the end to stop and spin. Thanks everyone this is fun!
