Unqualified ski patrol scabs to patrol Park City resort while contract is under negotiation ?

PC ski patrol union claims non union workers are on the way to work and some not even medically trained.
While Vail resorts and PCSP union are still negotiating seems like VR overhead is giving the union a middle finger and flying in non union workers with holidays coming up.
I hope any of your family or self’s skiing at PC this holiday don’t need help because you might get a pretend patroller.
Side note question: it can’t be cost efficient to continually pay non union folks with a housing deal/allowance in PC area to work all season long.
How long til VR overhead caves?

No way? I know we sign out life away with the waivers but if someone gets improper medical help or gets worse that still seems like a legal nightmare to me. Just pay your employees a living wage and this wouldnt be an issue

DONT BE A SCAB FOR ANY JOB. One of the worst thing you can possibly do to your fellow
workers

Scabbing in any form is just gutless in my opinion. Every place has different protocols and procedures that can be ever so changing when you come to discover inefficiencies or better ways to improve upon it. A resort like PC would take you multiple seasons to feel confident in your basic abilities to provide care, run sleds, run routes, familiarize terrain and trail checks/sweep routes, and that's not even learning the snow safety side of the job. It's a scary thought to know that ol Billy Bob MD who patrols on the side at his local 400ft hill could be throwing bombs or running code reds and or other critical situations to use extreme examples. Having to learn local protocols and the mountain itself on the busiest week of the year at the largest and busiest ski area in the country is just a nightmare waiting to happen and is probably lawsuit city.

And also PC did at one point have a similar program for unqualified patrollers that weren't fit for their professional paid pro staff in the form of a volunteer program but it got nixed after realizing how much of a liability that is despite non-paid first responders being protected under good Samaritan laws. This is the type of quality of patroller you would be getting with scabs filling positions on their roster except they are paid. So it's a liability nightmare as well.

If you don't have a medical cert, you're not a patroller. Period.

As an uninformed bystander, I highly doubt they are using non medically trained personnel. I see that as a slander call. Sure scabs suck, but there is 0̷% chance they are using randos, that would destroy the entire company with one incorrect medical move, and they know that.
