BallClapperFor films, start with some basic ass cookie cutter tgr shit and progressively get more core. But don’t make it obvious. Ultimately you can’t force someone to watch/ do something that isn’t their cup of tea.
bch.skisYeah start with like Kai Jones then get to Jesper and that opens the door
bch.skisI have attempted to make a ski club at my school that ultimately failed to as it was not approachable for people who don’t care about ski edits or ski culture but still like skiing. How should I go about making a club that’s fun and enticing for every level of skier - even beginners. My school has had ski bus and stuff in the past so I know there is an audience. Does any have any tips or things to share from their experience with their school ski club?
asparagusIf you’re in high school running buses to local hills works well, for college/university alcohol is a pretty easy middle ground lol
SofaKingSickfriendly reminder that might help: for the most part, normal people don't really care about street skiing like we do. they want to see big ol' jumps and mountains and cliffs
ski_salmon69I started a club at my school and kind of had the same issue. The main problem is nobody knew each other so when we did do trips to the local hills nobody really skiied with each other. So this year we've had a few parties, a cookout, and did some fundraisers and that got people interacting more and now we got a big trip planned up to mt snow so I think this winter is gonna be a lot more fun.
Do things in the fall and spring too keep the club active, stuff like hikes, lake days, etc. Just gotta make the club approachable and have as many events as possible and you'll have a good group in no time. Once you get enough people, likely a few of them will be more core skiiers.
bch.skisThanks - how did u initially attract people?
BallClapperBoobies and Chief Keef.
bch.skisThanks - how did u initially attract people? I’ve talked w some people who don’t ski often (my school is mainly a rich kids that ski 2x a year at Aspen school) and they seem pretty uninterested in the idea of a ski club based solely around skiing
