New bindings on kickstarter.

Gotta say they’re pretty cool design wise and innovation. If the “claims” end up being facts in the end they could be game changers.

There’s a lot of “ifs” at this point and being only able to join the kickstarter for European delivery kind of sucks but the price to get on the initial isn’t bad at all.

doesn’t seem to have lateral release, only vertical and a 14 din on the freeride version. Brakes are a little weird with no plastic pieces on the end of the arms but I guess that would take away from their 100% metal binding claim.

Came here to post this. Some clown was like "ooo, touring pivots." and didn't know that cast was a thing. They look weird. Rather have the new atk's for a lighter weight setup.

They also have a super light weight even more barebones version coming too, but haven’t seen any videos for it besides what’s on the website. doesn’t even look like it has risers, so very curious to see what else is to come from these guys.

BallClapperCame here to post this. Some clown was like "ooo, touring pivots." and didn't know that cast was a thing. They look weird. Rather have the new atk's for a lighter weight setup.


Well these are basically half the weight of the new HY and are basically the complete opposite of cast. These are designed to be as light as possible while as strong as possible without the need of needing to carry a heavy toe piece to swap in your pocket. Cast doesn’t give a fuck about weight. No clue if these will actually perform as they claim though.

The gold piece in the center of heel is the riser. Just folded flat in the picture you posted

These are breaking the second someone who weighs over 185 lbs actually skis them hard. I get wanting the most lightweight binding possible but at some point you have to question if you really trust a binding that weighs 100 grams

Yeah but to be fair the people wwho will buy these bindings won’t be skiing the same way you might, they will be hop turning the entire way down, just want a binding light enough to do 3000m + vert in a single day repeatedly. Spandex wearing skimo crazy fit dudes.

Looks promising! I think Markus Steinke aka Bambam, founder of B*A*M who also invented the innovative BAM Pindung (Pinding) a few years back before Salomon came around with the Shift is in on this one. At least he’s the guy at the end of the video.
Guy is a genius! Hope they will get this founded!

Their whispering in the marketing video is really silly. What isn't silly is a non releasable toe. The binding appears to only release upwards from the heel. If you look at the way it's designed, you can say goodbye to your knees.

I think it’s just great to be seeing more innovation in skiing again. The people behind these seem to have very legit history in skiing so I think they’re off to a great start.

You’re 100% right but they’re being advertised as an actual Freeride binding which is comical

For that one I was referencing their 120g “ultra” binding which is super low tech, nothing going on there. I do think that people will be able to ski relatively aggressively (condition dependent) on their 300g one, in a similar way to most pin bindings on the market now (keep in mind those bindings can essentially only release vertically anyways so not much different)

Well delivery isn’t until Oct. so the only people putting their body on the line is the designers themselves. Clearly they believe enough in their work to trust their own body atm. They’re actively skiing them atm.

Keep in mind just about every single pin binding does not have a consistent lateral release at the toe, so this is a mighty improvement already. Many brands do not add to their modes since it increases weight and complexity, and the people who want to buy a sub 300g pin binding know they won't be skiing in a way where they expect to require the lateral release. It's all about compromises.
