Wildcat 108 vs Devastator vs Bacon

Jeffrey 108s are a good option if your looking for something stiffer I recommend them

Im basicaly in the same boat but along wondering about the new nomad 106.

Current Bacon is pretty solid underfoot with thick sidewalls but I’d still call them a very soft ski.

devs look like a very good stiffer alternative

The wildcat 108 is a lot of fun in CO. Had mine there last winter at Breck and beaver and they rocked. Decently stiff for the shape. Handles crud and chop fairly well. Float is solid for a 108. Solid edge hold on firm and ice. Firm underfoot and handles landings really well. Plenty playful and pivoty and don’t feel heavy in the air. -6 mount point but will be happy moved forward +1-2 if you want a little more park oriented.

i will say while they are absolutely usable in the park moment does recommend the wildcat 101 as their 50/50 park / all mountain ski. It’s a -5 out the gate and is happy going +1-2 easily. A little more nimble. Slightly tighter side cut radius and a longer effective edge helps it have better firmer/icy edge hold. Slightly lighter as well but a similar stiff layup to the 108.

cant comment on the other two. The dev I’ve never been on and I’ve only skied a bacon 1 time like 4-5 years ago for 2 runs while someone tried my commander 98 and honestly don’t remember anything about it.

Devs are a good option, had the 186 OG layup for a few seasons riding lake louise 70/30 all mountain/park and were super fun. They handled variable snow/chalk really well stability wise, stability came more from weight rather than stiffness which allowed for alot of jibbing. In the park since they were pretty heavy so swaps and spinning off rails was a little cumbersome but the new layup that made them lighter probably helped with that a bit. Didn't notice it on jumps as much but only ever went to 7 on jumps that were big enough to accommodate a leisurely spin. Especially liked the profile of them, flat bases, pivot on a dime...etc. Park wise it made surface swaps and tube 50s easy.

Especially with the new lighter design they could be the best fast and jibby all mountain ski that rips park too, would choose them over the bacons in the Rockies

SwampyI've been riding the last iteration of the Sir Francis Bacon as my daily driver in Colorado for the last couple years and I am looking for its successor.

I basically ride 50% park 50% whatever else is going on at the mountain that day, pow/crud/ice etc.

I would like something a little bit stiffer so I'm looking at the Wildcat and Devastator, I wouldn't be opposed to the new Bacon either if the new one is burlier. Open to any other suggestions too.

What's your guys opinion on these skis as an everyday ski in CO?

I have the 4frnt devs and when I bought them I skied like 50% park and 50% all mountain and I absolutely loved them. I don't ski the park that much anymore but they are still my favorite ski.

Nah I had yles
