SlunkyThere’s only a few wood shops making most boards(there’s a database on slap somewhere) and structure/materials are basically identical across shops(although some would say certain shops/wood is better) so probably not any fundamental aspect of the board, especially given you’ve had a baker before and are now on a deathwish.
the shape(different brands have different moulds) and size prob just works better for you
Young_pattyAdding onto this,
Go to your local shop and try out board shapes until you find one you like- if it’s a legit shop they’ll have no problem with you standing on boards to get a feel for them.
I skated a bunch of Hockey and Quasi/Mother boards, both companies made some of their boards with BBS, and I really liked the boxy double nose shape- I believe it’s called “BBS shape 2” (?)
All boards are basically the same in terms of durability, it’s really more about finding a shape that you prefer to skate.
