I did NOT realize recommended was that far back. It’s like -8. It’s the center of the sidecut. But I’m tryna use these to jib and mess around mostly.
Am I cooked or should I send it?
Skis are older than most on this site, not expecting too much input.
Somewhat offtopic just saw some hellbents in good condition in Fieberbrunn with Jester Pros for 130. I cant justify them but damn if thats not a good deal
FruitBootProthat's basically my plan at the moment, but wanted to get opinions regardless
Your profile says you got 189 kung fujas, how you like them? Found some local for insane cheap.

In my opinion - the proper way to mount hellbents is at true center. I have these in the 189 length and while I usually don't recommend a true center mount, these just feel correct at that position.
Good thing you're far enough back that if you don' like them you will dodge all of your previous drill spots if you move them up.

I work at the shop that mounted them, their on the third mount so that was the only spot holes lined up without being true center. pretty much everything gets mounted at rec unless u specify

Yeah I was expecting recommended which I falsely assumed would be pretty progressive because of how the ski is. Totally not the shop’s fault 🫡 and thanks again for selling em to me.
Bought them new and cheap (120 good as new with jesters from a rental shop that said they never rented them out cause they were too long) while working as a ski instructor. They measure longer than stated length. Fun skis, ask for somewhat more of a centered stance and not the stablest at high speeds, tails are on the soft side which penalizes when snow is harder than expected on landings. They were crazy durable, I landed on many rocks with them and edges are still mostly fine, hard to get a coreshot on them at all. These were the year with the white bases. I left them in the Pyrenees when I moved to the Alps a year and a half ago, they were definitely rock skis by then and I had to limit my luggage, but still got them out often, especially in spring.

i skied em on an (east coast) pow day and they were fine. felt really stiff in front of the binding and extremely soft/loose behind the binding, but that's fun. dumb stable on rails which I didn't expect at all.
someone needs to make these with sidecut centered at -1 from center instead of whatever this is. these are a pow ski first and jib ski second, which is the wrong way around

This is actually a prosecutable crime. True center or nothing
