My University's ski and board club is going to Red Mountain (BC) during reading break. We're probably only gonna ski for 3 or 4 days so I really want to maximise my time there. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations of specific areas/runs that I should go check out while I'm there. Also is the cat skiing on mt Kirkup worth it?

Mountain is super rad but pretty straightforward. You could ride all the lifts in a half-day and view 90% of the terrain. Then go from there.

Haven't skied there for years but I remember lapping paradise chair on the backside of granite mountain, tons of fun jibs around there. The whole mountain is a blast though, you really can't go wrong.

Echoing the others it’s fun to just ski around and explore. Honestly the layout is kinda confusing at first and the map doesn’t do it justice. Lots of different faces served by different Chairs.

Been a few years but remember going up Motherlode and dropping in off Powderfields traverse. Trying to get cliffed out and finding a way through.
Also cliff area off Granite Mtn, and off the back of Grey Mtn "The Chute Show" was fucking sick

The N-NE aspects are where the stashes hide after storms, also where the steeper and cliffier terrain is.
Go poking around, there’s a ton of stashes that i wouldn’t divulge on the internet. Just gotta find them. There’s a few cliff bands you can get cliffed out on but there’s safe exits off everything if you get creative and are comfortable dropping 10-15ft to a small landing.
I don’t recommend the Kirkup cat. It’s just as quick to skin up there. If you have multiple vehicles you can drop a car on the highway and ski off the NE aspect down to the road. Or just hitchhike.
Mt. Roberts is fantastic slack country if you have touring gear.
