Just taking a minute at 6AM at the airport to drop a Sugarloaf Appreciation Thread.
Skied Sugarloaf on Saturday for the first time in 10 years and was FIRED up to see the best early season jib line they’ve ever had.
Honestly better than most anywhere I skied in high school and college on the east coast, top tier sesh zone for Thanksgiving weekend.
wanted to chime in here and say anybody in the region looking for a proper hike park (also lap-able from timberline) should absolutely make the trek to Jah loaf to get in on this.
also wanted to throw major props to the current STP crew because IMO sugarloaf is some of the best skiing on the eastern seaboard and I always felt like park crew wasn’t really given the resources it needed despite having the features, terrain, and demand for a world class park. No hate on past crews I just always felt like they were doing the best they could but feels like the resort is finally leaning into the park scene and the crew is putting the passion and time to make something dope for people of all ages. Loved to see the loc dogs, college kids, groms, and Flatlander Massholes such as myself all getting in on the action and some heaters getting thrown down.
needless to say, this fired me up so much that I hit a bunch of features on my Head Kore 98 rental skis and blew out of the demo bindings and ate shit, but it was worth it bc the vibes were all time.
Huge love for that kooky little corner of Maine that has and will continue to inspire the global culture.
