SchoessLet me first start by saying that I think the best ski for you is more of Jeffery than a Woodsman if it's your only ski and you hit any park. The Jeff is literally the do it all ski. Jeff 100 will charge anything you want. The Woodsman is slightly stiffer and has a slightly shorter radius. The Jeffery will ski switch much better and I haven't had any issues holding an edge at any speed I have been able to achieve. That being said, the Jeff 92 would be closer to your original thought of a Woodsman 92.
Secondly, I historically was on K2's and Armada's. I was going through 3 pairs a season until I switched over to ON3P's. I've been on them now for 7-8 years and haven't looked back. Their edges, glue, sidewall, core, etc is all extremely high quality. They build skis in a way that major manufacturers literally cannot. Their margins are also so much lower than big ski companies because of how much their materials and labor costs to make each ski. That's great news for us as the consumer. I also love how I can order any franken-ski that I want. I can order touring or hybrid touring layups in any ski shape with different flex and whatever graphics I want.
Lastly I would like to add that every ski that will ever be created will eventually break down and fail. From all of my experience and what I have learned over the years... ON3P has consistently been the strongest skis that I have seen on the market. I've skied 100+ days on midwest tow ropes/rails, slammed into rocks, logs, trees, skied powder, groomers, jumped off cliffs, etc. They have just held up so well for me and everyone I have known who has had a pair. On top of all that, it's an American company employing a bunch of cool dudes who just love to ski and get to make a living on producing what I think are the best skis money can buy.
most of my skiing is currently on groomers (its NE tho so theres lots of ice), but I love to hit glades when I can, and im working on some more park skills. I also love hitting rollers and side hits on groomers. Obviously the Jeff would be superior to the Woodsman in the park, but for the other things, would it hold up? also how well will it do at high speeds (40mph+)
if I were to go with the woodsman, would it still be fun/easy with the occasional park lap, jibbing, and buttering?
