Opening day at Okemo is this Sunday December 1st at 9am!
Currently our summit temperature is 29 degrees, 34 degrees at mid mountain and 36 degrees in the base area. Our snowmaking team is poised and ready to take full advantage of the cooler temperatures that will follow tomorrow’s storm which could bring 4-8’’ of snow over the next 24 hours.
While the priority continues to be snowmaking on Lower Chief and the base area, our team will be taking advantage of upper mountain temps to make snow on Upper Sapphire, Upper Arrow, and Double Dipper.
For opening day we expect to have top to bottom skiing and riding and will be opening with the B-Quad, Sunburst Six as well as the F10 carpet. For opening day terrain, we plan to open with Lower Mountain Road to Open slope in the base as well as Countdown, Upper World Cup, Chute to Lower Chief from the Summit. With favorable temps in the forecast, we will be pushing directly for Upper Sapphire, to Rt.103 to Upper and Lower Arrow.
