hey, just got my 650 epoxy in, gotta love west system g flex. reupping from my previous post abt edge cracks, what’s your guys method for applying the epoxy, am i directly filling in the crack or just the space between the edge and bottom? also what timing do you guys use, manual says to mix and apply but i cant make out how long it takes to fully solidify? some areas say 3-4 to solidify and 7-10 to reach a “workable cure” (no clue if that means mailable or sandable). but then near the end of the manual it says that it takes 24 hours for it to be subjected to high loads? just need tips, have heard adding it onto a toothpick, razor, etc, if anyone has any detailed tips or videos, instructions, etc. it would really help a brother out, going riding tmr and didn’t know curing would take that long :(
these cracks are decently minor and idk even know if i should fill in the second one (both are on different skis)
also if anyone has storage tips for edge cracks similar to my last post that would help, ik to let them fully dry and wipe down so that no moisture stays in the bottom sheet but im unsure of how to get it out if any does end up going inside.
Sand the separation w a gummy stone, then toothpick some epoxy in where u can and clamp it. Should be fine. Try to ride w the cracks on ur inside edge if u can to avoid hitting it again.
Make two equal sized dots with the hardener and resin. Mix. Apply with a razor blade so you can really work the epoxy in there. A heat gun is helpful if you have one, it'll make the epoxy more runny and easier to get deep into the ski. Clamp down with C clamps and some flat pieces of metal on the top and base to disperse pressure evenly. Best bet is to let it cure for 24 hrs. Scrape/sand/cut away excess epoxy

This.
Heat the epoxy in whatever you mix it in/on. I usually grab a plastic bottle or something and cut a little spreader/applicator out of the plastic and mix it in a concave part of the plastic. Careful of the fumes when you hear the epoxy they increase big time, use in a well ventilated area and set up a fan. Also where gloves and of course eye protection always.
