tomPietrowskiWait until you ski them :)
where lower boa mainly adds comfort the boa cuff ups the performance so much over buckles. We were just away testing new boots and had some buckle bench marks and they just can’t come close to what boa cuff offers.
If you want a boot which performs you should give it a try it’s pretty special!
I still have so many questions regarding the BOA upper cuff. I am thankful that the dial on the upper cuff system doesn’t appear to be close to the instep, which I feel is an area that gets damaged the most by skiers who are either ski very aggressively or just happen to catch their boot on metal stairs in the lodge. With that being said, do you think that the upper cuff BOA dial will pop out if someone isn’t too careful in the woods or in the lodge, or do you think it’ll handle the wear and tear way more than metal buckles?
Sorry if that appears to be pessimistic; one of the first three things that pops in my head when a new boot design enters the market other than fit and construction are figuring out where the potential failing points could be on the boot itself.
