Make Tight Skis Long Again

At 6'4" and 230lbs, I am about to write a letter to Santa and then get on my knees and pray that the following ski models, in order of priority, get an additional length in the same increment as the others in the line:

Salomon Depart 1.0 in a 190cm

Armada Stranger in a 188cm

Armada B-Dog in a 188cm

Season Kin in a 187cm

Line Sakana in a 188cm

Mirus Cor in a 190.4cm

1000 Carve in a 189cm


Does anyone know if expanding the line-up of these ski models to those lengths is in the works?

I'd put the Kin and Mirus above the B-Dog and Sakana, but otherwise your list and my list match almost exactly.

caution,⚠️ not sure if you are planning to take them out of the park or if you already know, but skinny skis outside the park can be very dicey! I took a knee to my dome on some Black Crow skinny demos trying to stomp at the Bird on a bootpack day on Little Cloud and got rocked (dark room for at least a couple weeks). This was a few years ago and one of the first days of the season (another lapse in judgement). Such a bummer! This is honestly why I have been inclined to ski on boats ever since almost regardless of conditions because i just like the way they absorb impact. If you are not aware of this, learn from my mistake!! 😖 ‼️

no doubt (!!) , TLDR don't send cliffs in bootpack on skinny skis 😨 (unless you're god level at squats and are really good at bending your knees to take that stomp lol).

As a fellow 6’ 4” skier i agree! Shout out to Vishnu for always offering the 189, all my park skis are 185-189. I’d love to rip a pair of edollo or bdogs but they only offer up to 180

Seriously! a 186cm pow ski is for people under 6'. Especially with a more centered mount. I almost put it on the list as well, but if they did it by their current interval it'd be a 196cm. Girth! They'd need to change the available lengths.

I saw this. I used to ride the 189. Looks so friggin epic, and sounds like they stiffened it up a bit too. Ideal.

Give some of these skis a demo if you can because I know Sakanas ride longer than they are if mounted at Pollard’s recommended -4. 6’0, 215 and my Sakana 181s feel like they’re my usual 189.

I've got a 181 set up tele at -7. If I get that ski again I'd move them up -6, at least. The reason I'd want a longer Sakana is primarily for stability. That thing needs extra length, or extra weight, or gas pedal metal, or all of it at once. When the groomer isn't perfect, they are a chatterbox.
