Full rocker skis

Hello all gear heads. I need your expertise. I am looking for a full rockerd park ski, or close to full rocker. My fav ever skis were the old surface royales, which were pretty much full rocker, as the camber flattened out after literally a week. I know That the skis listed will not be anywhere near as soft, I have tried lots of the "softest skis" - ie: blends, v's, icey/fatypus/jet, 1000s, nothing gets close


but I think the full rocker is what made it so effortless to ski. And all my skis now have wayy too much camber.
even though they are soft, and it flattens out when riding, I do not get the same effortless spin/pivot on a dime effect.

any insight is appreciated

Check the rocker profile on the Nomad, see if you can track down last years or the year before as I think it was updated but the old ones were pretty much rocker-flat-rocker.

funny enough, I just literally picked up a pair and viewed the camber. My litttle bro has a pair from 2 years ago??
idk exact, but its the older style one. It is pretty close to full rocker, but it definitely has some camber to it.

Devastators are full rocker and super fun in the park. Rip around the mountain too. Best ski of all time IMO and there is a couple of us on here that hold that opinion

Uhmmm i would say vishnu wet or wide, but you mean they have too much camber? My wets are pretty much full rocker at this point

I dont really know what the rocker profile on the wets or wides are. I was looking to buy some, but there are no pictures of the skis side profile picture anywhere

And I was just saying that the wets are a little stiffer than what I would like, but the full rocker (if they are ) might outweigh that

wets and wides have practically no/little camber. Flex wise I dont think you can find a modern ski thats going to be softer.

They are probably the softest skis out of the box.

Are you talking about the white Royales with the womans face on them?

If so, sorry, I've tried them all nothing really compares. J Skis Vacation is the closest thing, but overall they are still a burlier, wider, heavier ski. People who think wets are the softest must been used to Volkl. My old royales are twice as soft as my wets

The super floppy phase was just a blip on the ski design timeline, companies tried it, found the limit where super soft skis became stupid then dialed it back towards the middle. It happens in the evolution of every field of design.

I would die to have a pair of those skis in ,my size. my pair is 161, And I ride 184 now, so kinda unrideable especially for how soft they are.

I have heard similar about the j skis vacation
I might try a pair

Late 2000s early teens was prime K2 Fujative, Line sir Francis bacon, Line Elizabeth, other similar skis that people say were pure noodles according to oldddd threads
These royales were 2020 or 2021 I believe

I keep buying other skis to try and do something different and then going straight back. Still pissed at myself for selling my OG layups to my roommate.

Yeah i have but not park. They are stiff, rail groomers, pivot like mad in anything soft and are a really fun ski.

Have you skied on the new design? I haven't, but I'm about to trade some moment deathwish 184 for last years devastators in a 186. if you have skied on the new version, how would you say they compare?

as friend of mine came over t9o ride my front yard ski setup, with a pair of wets, and even compared to my fatypus L toros, which are like nomads, or jet skis (neversummers factory skis) they were noticeably stiff. Both pairs of my misfit skis are wayyy softer than they were, Which is kinda making me rethink selling my misfits, as they seem to be way softer than anything else, and have a decent rocker profile to them. It just seems odd to me that The misfits weren't really marketed or talked about for their flex at all, and they make vishnus feel like a pair of vokls/other stiff asf skis. the vs have more rocker yes, but having a little less rocker and way more flex is better imo

ok, so I email surface saying to bring back the old royales.

they say that they never changed the design, and that they are still the same as always.
this leads me to ordering a pair of them.

upon arrival, It is obvious that the ski is way stiffer, and has wayy more camber.
the new skis have less early rise, and tip splay.
they tell me I just gotta break them in, and the skis are 100 percent the same.
First of all, I compared the flex of my old par when they were not even mounted yet aswell as my new pair agaionst the same pair of black crow captis birdie. the old pair was significantly softer than them. meanwhile the new pair is so much stiffer its got me mad
the older pair was also soft asf the 1st run I rode it, it needed no break in to be soft, So idk why surface trynna tell me I gotta ride them awhile to be able to get a nice flex.

I am trying to return the skis now, as I spent 500 bucks for a Ski that isn't even close to my old pair.

Not necessarily a “park” ski but moment meridians are such a fun ski. One of two full rocker’s in my quiver but I’d never sell them. Cold dead hands ski for me. Moment brought them back recently but in a small batch too

Interesting that they told you they were the same, because I could have sworn they updated the design right after the first year white 2020 womans face graphics, I recall seeing it on their IG story the next model year and that made me not order a new pair.

However, with that being said, my experience with the Royale's sounds like what Surface is telling you- I remember them feeling kinda stiff/cambered until I rode on them a few solid days. I wondered how the hell they marketed them at a 3/10 flex. But the more I rode them, the more rockered and soft they got

This has got to be the same reason why some people say Wets are soft noodles, and our experiences are quite different
