Daymaker Tekdapter or used backcountry setup?

So I recently got a pair of Tecnica Zero G backcountry boots. I currently don't have a backcountry setup or a lot of money. I feel like my best 2 options are to either buy the Daymaker Techdapters and use those with my 4frnt Devastors. or stalk Facebook marketplace and try to find a used pair of backcountry skis with pins. I will probably be touring 3-5 times a month in the PNW.
Does anyone have experience with Daymakers new Techdapters?

Daymakers are super solid. Plus you still get to use normal bindings and not some old sketchy pins (probably going to be old and sketchy if ~$300 is your max)

Not cheap per se but in my opinion pomoca has the best on the market. Plus they have a skin finder tool which is super neat. https://www.pomoca.com/find-your-skin

i’d say go with day maker, the devs are sick in the backcountry and would be way more fun than an old uphill rig

I agree, I am just a bit concerned about the weight and efficiency of the daymakers because most of my days will be 5,000+ vert

when you add up the alpine skis, bindings, + tekadapters and skins you’re gonna be hurtin hips after like 600m unless you’re superbly durable. Any setup is a good setup if you’re just tryna get into it tho. If you get 1500m days sustainably on that setup you’ll be fit as fuck by end of season.

the old ones where mad heavy but the new ones are like 1,850 grams for 179cm

Imma go with the techdapters and then in like 2 years get a nice pin setup. It will be heavy asf on the way up so imma get in really good shape lol

Yeah the current 186 is 1997/ ski. The problem is once you hop on a 2100+ ski everything else feels light and it’s really hard to go back.

I think my old YLEs were like 2300 or something like that, touring on those with frame binding was the pits lol classing early 2010s touring setup
