couldn’t find any race boots to try on in store. Buddy let me try his zipfits in my shell and they were absolutely perfect. Having a bit of trouble forking over that much money though. Would do the Fischer zip because the tongue overlap is not as large. (Slight thinner tongue, was making a horrible pressure point)
deadhead420Damm that looks like a baller boot. I love the trend of performance frontside boots coming with grip walk. Is there a way to fix that volume issue and slop without a liner upgrade to something thicker?
If you are too low volume for even that boot you are a perfect candidate for the darkside 👀👀
Anyone tried out the fisher RC4 PRO, one with boa and a tech toe? Lil bit pricy and hard to find, but looks solid.
i feel like more brands gotta offer this no walk mode, but tech toe feature. Imagine it can’t cost much. K2 does it on the recon, but heard mixed things on it. I know cast does the conversion but it is pricy.
it makes so much sense for me and probably others who don’t tour much, and just want one boot. I am stuck in frames or day makers, would definitely prefer a hybrid style binding but oh well.
Remember my first proper fitting I went with krypton 120s vs the 130, wish I wasn’t such a dweeb back then. Woulda been perfect for me now.

Get the zips from Corbetts. With the exchange rate you save a nice chunk. Also don’t judge the fit by your friends zips. They’re going to be molded to his foot assuming he’s skied them so the pressure points are based off his shape. A zip will mold to your foot which would reduce any issues. You can also remove cork if needed. Have you done the fit calculator on zips website to see what model they recommend
Was the freeride liner. Didn't get them injected. The pressure is on the side of my lower leg. He did have a shin spacer on the front of the tongue could be that.

Zips don’t get injected. They come pre loaded with cork and you mold them with heat to your foot. After skiing them you can add or remove cork if you want more or less hold. ZIP specifically recommends skiing them prior to adding or removing as the cork aitll
migrate as they break in. You can end up causing yourself way more issues by adding or removing prior to skiing them.
Dalbello IL Moro Pro (used 50+ days)
K2 Revolver TW Pro (used 100+ days)
Armada AR One 110 MV (used 35+ days)
Armada is my favorite of the 3. I swapped out the stock Armada tongue liner for an Intuition Pro Wrap (the wrap takes up more volume and makes the boot flex feel stiffer which I prefer) and also added booster straps because the stock elastic strap barely has any elasticity. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is also swapping out the rear cuff support to a Dalbello one (Full Tilt rear cuff also fits). As you see from the photos the stock Armada rear cuff barely has any support at all on both the rear and lateral side. Helpful for if I accidentally land a bit back seat on any landings.
Interestingly, for my feet, the armada has the highest volume heel pocket in the shell but the best heel hold out of the three. If I did a blind test I would never guess the Armada was a “medium volume” boot. My dalbello is the tightest fit of the 3 (I had to get multiple punches to get the width to a comfortable spot) but has the worst heel hold of the 3. I think it has something to do with the placement of the heel buckle.
I’ve lately been only using the Armadas for park skiing and will only be using the K2 or dalbello for powder days/chill non-park days. Very happy with this armada boot after those mods I did.

sick quiver of boots. any reason why you like 3 peice cabrio boots so much and don't have a two peice boot in the quiver?
a couple seasons ago I owned a Salomon S Pro 120 and wasn’t liking how it felt like my shins were hitting a brick wall in the flex whenever I landed nose heavy (like switch landings) or any sort of big bumps in off piste. Since then I’ve tried only the Cabrio boots and had great success with how it fits my type of skiing and the shock absorption is great
