ajbskiToo many boots… I wear a 9.5 nike sb skate shoe most of the time. my go to are the rangers
fischer ranger 110 mv 26.5 daily driver:
-intuition tour wrap (swap in pro wrap in bounds)
-boosters
-custom molded sidas footbed
-custom silicone boot board
scarpa f1 27.5 long tours:
-stock intuition, stock everything
- nice comfy super light lv boot for foot access
scott orbit 26.5 sled touring:
- pro wrap with a diamond cut out in the back for ease of walking.
- just wanted something cheap with a vibram sole that can get chewed up on running boards when I’m doing sled access tours. I think I paid $150 for them on gearx
FT drop kicks 27.5 park/night ski/the one time I hiked a stair set:
-booster straps
-drscholls under the liners
arcteryx procline 310bsl skimo boot:
- lite liner
-haven’t really used them all that much. 8 times. Generally pick these up when I have some technical scrambles or glacier walks to do with skis on my back. They interface with crampons really really well and the mobility is next to none.
arcteryx acrux ar 310bsl climbing boots:
-not a ski boot but felt like sharing
Imma Nike guy too, my go to is the blazer mid lately
Maybe the best looking full tilt model they ever made in my opinion. Nice boots man
migidimigi
I have FullTilt B&E in size 26,5. Quite many spare parts changed, but the real mods are:
- little more room for the pinky toes in the shell
- new 120 flex tongues from sammy c boots
- Booster straps
- cheap ass footbeds for that arch support from local sports equipment store
- longer upper cables for my thick ass calves
Tecnica Mach 90 never had a boot more comfortable or preform better with custom volume reducers I made out of craft foam because I’m to lazy to heat mold

Boots are personal but ZipFits are the truth. I ski a Technica Mach1 130LV with a zipfit GFT (yes, you can use the touring liner in a resort boot) + booster strap. For those of us with narrow ankles and heels, zips are incredible.
Has anyone put zipfits in hawx ultra 130 shells? I tried to make it work but too much room in the ahells. Next shell size down is too small for me. Sucks.

Where in the boot is there too much room and which zipfit did you try?
ChunderfaceMiddle two buckles above and below the ankle had to be slammed creating pain. Tried the higher volume gara.
You could try adding cork to the front of the ankle area. The port for that is at the top of the tongue. Add some cork and then massage it into place. A shim under your footbed to take up volume or a heal lift could also help get a secure fit without having to slam your buckles.

I actually cut out some material from the liner in the place where it hurt. Helped quite a bit! Then I switched to tecnica Mach sport HVs and no longer have instep pains.
Tecnica Firebird r 130 (96mm last and downsized to 26,5) with custom footbeds and rubber lifter plates. Cut liner at the instep, heat molded and ground a bit wider in the toe box. Game changer but also stupidly heavy at ~2450g

Lange RX130 LV and Lange XT3 LV for touring. Both have Masterfit footbeds from Jeff Burgeron at Boot Fixation in Breck.
I also have no brand loyalty - but I used to! I was a full tilt and nordica guy until I started blowing buckles. Jeff told me it was time to get outta three buckle boots - he was tired of fixing em! I probably tried 20 boots before I settled on Lange. Never thought I'd be a Lange guy, but they were the best outta the box for my relatively boring foot. The RX has the best power transmission I've ever experienced in a boot.
Speaking of boots, the last few years I've been lucky enough to spend a good bit of time in Tahoe. If you're in the area, Olympic Bootworks is phenomenal. 10/10 recommend. I love my local boot fitter, but Olympic Bootworks would steal my business if I lived there full time....
whatscoreCurrently rocking some Full Tilt drop kick pros (beige model)
-size 25.5
-custom painted mix match boot
futur me: I would like to upgrade to something that’s a bit more comfortable. A bit wider than 99 last don’t really care about the brand now lol, I got a few boots in mind by only boot fitting will determine which ones ima cop
Going tomorrow to try and get them better fitting to my feet/leg, if the shin pain keeps persisting then I think it’s new boot time
Stock k2 twalls. I got put in soul shells by a fitter years ago, have tried other boots but keep coming back. I have a spare pair of prowraps for when the liners blow out.

Second this… Olympic boot works and Buck brown are awesome!

The Gara LV in the Hawx Ultra 130 worked like a dream for me last season.
ChunderfaceCurious but what's you shoe size and mondo size? Were you using the stock liner before or something else?
My shoe size is like US 9.5, my feet measure 26.5 exactly. I was in the 25.5 Hawx Ultra w/ stock liner and it felt great, then got into the Zipfit Gara LV and it felt even better

im 90% sure the sizes are us equivalent so a 26.5 is the same as a 8.5. you just add the numbers together and thats the size. until 30+ of course which is a 12 equivalent. i’m pretty sure on that. i typically wear 13 shoes and rock 30.5 full tilt/k2s

Yeah I don't really know how all of that works. All I know is that my feet measure 265 mm long when weighted and that anything smaller than a US 9.5 shoe feels too small, and a size 26.5 boot feels too big. I don't think shoe sizes are super helpful when talking about boot stuff, hence why there's a brannock at every boot bench.
Just downsized from a 28.5 to a 27.5 this season and I’m now using a Dalbello Veloce 120 MV as my new park boot. The new power strap update they did from factory is killer and feels like flexing an elastic band with the responsive feedback it gives combined with the shell and liner. I do have Sidas custom footbeds inside the liners as well, and the setup as a whole absolutely raged while I was skiing for such a short period of time at Killington back on Tuesday.
K2 Flex Revolve Pro aka FT Drop Kick Pros. Don’t think I’ll ever find another boot that fits my feet as well as these do. Just wish they came with some grippy replaceable din soles.
Replaced tongues to a 10/120 flex, liners to the pro tongue liners, and a beefier powerstrap. I found these upgrades help stiffen the boot forward and laterally, but does take away from that buttery smooth forward flex you get in wrap liners.
Also picked up a pair of Lange RS 130 MVs on a deal too good to pass up. I know these are worlds away from cabrio boots let alone FT/Flex boots, but I’ve always been curious about overlap boots.

BallClapperDrop what race boots ya’ll rocking as well. On the hunt.
I see you are interested in the dark side my friend. Once you go down this path there will be no coming back, but in return you will be granted powers beyond one's wildest dreams
I just finished my custom 1 of 1 boot build after months of planning and wow are they dialed
Parts list
Shell: Head Raptor WCR 140/150 25.5 95mm last that comes with an amazing stock booster strap
Liner: Surefoot foam injected with built in heating element on the toes
Footbed: Surefoot custom with a secondary thermic heating element
Soles: Vibram lifter plates routed to alpine standard
Bootcap cuz fuck it we ball
Dual heaters cuz I got frostbite in the toes a few years ago and I'm not gonna let that happen again.
I did all the Bootfitting, shell grinding, sole work and heater installation myself except for the surefoot liner and footbed
Anyone have input on how I could add a little impact cushioning to these boots?
I don't have any spare volume in the boot right now to add additional volume reducers or a second flat footbed. I was thinking about planeing down the top of my boot board a mm or two and grinding the shell to match and then adding something like an impact absorbing FP insoles flat skate style footbed under my orthoritic.
Also interested in experimenting with rubber bootboards. Saw a video of Jesper talking about rubber boot boards in his head raptors

Been in Lange RS130s for the past few seasons, super stoked on them. Minor navicular punch on the left shell, right shell is totally stock. Originally had Intuition Plug liners swapped over from my previous boots, but this year upgraded to some Head foam-injected liners which have been dope. Finished off with Booster WCs and my custom insoles, and it's genuinely the happiest I've ever been with my boot setup.
I use the free ride liner with a bunch of extra cork with some older Hawk ultra 130 XTD shells. Toe punch both sides and a booster strap with the little bit of cuff plastic cutoff so that I can cinch the booster on the liner.
Had a bit of extra material added to the heel of the boot board too. Pretty happy with them now, but it was a process for sure.
deelonmuskThe Gara LV in the Hawx Ultra 130 worked like a dream for me last season.
Ended up going in-between. In the Fischer curv gt 130. So not full on race but still a performance boot. Had some trouble initially but it's going well. Lower leg is a little skinny for the cuff, was getting slop fore to aft and side to side. Booster strap helped a lot. Heel hold is excellent but my ankle smashes back and forth. Gets pretty beat up in firm/ bumpy conditions or if I'm really cooking. Still a work in progress.

idk what happened, but my ski boots hurt my ankles and heels really bad now, like if i touch the back of my heel even lightly the whole thing tingles and hurts super bad
roxa element 100 boots , which are a 110 flex, size 25.5 they are 3 piece style
i had fischer ranger 120s 25.5 they gave me terrible toebang, and were unskiable even after countless bootfitting attempts.
I tried on like 20 boots, and the only ones my feet didnt get toebang in was the roxa's. my feet slid around in all the boots, and
i am sized down, my feet are 26.5
Due to my heels being cooked, and my toe still cooked from surgery and the other ski boots, i am going to start snowboarding so my feet do not hurt anymore.
Cortex fit and performance is next level for me. Only problem is the stock liner is awful, I had my foot go completely numb right as I was setting a rotation. The Gara LV doesn't work well with the Cortex while it's a perfect fit for the Hawx. I didn't want to mess with the Gara, but I was able to track down a Corsa liner for a steal.
I got frostbite at the beginning of the season and have been rocking with heated socks since.

I'm in 130 RS right now and it fits looser than my last two pairs of Ultra 130's. Do not like the extra room. Looking at the Cortex. Was also thinking of waiting for the Ultra full BOA.
How does the fit and feel compare between the RS and the cortex? What size are you in?

To keep it simple, compared to the Hawx Ultra the Cortex is a little more spacious right at the ends of the toes, but tighter everywhere else.
To be fair, the Cortex is in a different boot category than the Hawx. The atomic equivalent would be a Redster or the soon to be released Remedy. It's a thicker shell plastic that has tons of power and smooth flex. I'm in love with the Cortex, but double boa was a pain at first to get used to -- in terms of adjustment. It's as much performance as I can get out of a boot without boot work.
I would've gone the Redster route if I had a bootfitter I could trust. I'll try the new Remedy, but as I understand it I will need some work done to the shell to get it to work for my foot.
Fully content with the Cortex as my competition/serious skiing boot and then the Hawx as the boot I'd wear if I in boots all day coaching or something.

Damm that looks like a baller boot. I love the trend of performance frontside boots coming with grip walk. Is there a way to fix that volume issue and slop without a liner upgrade to something thicker?
If you are too low volume for even that boot you are a perfect candidate for the darkside 👀👀
