Ikon pass and other scams

So when did going up a hill and going down cost 2,000 dollars a season? These mountains and passes are just milking money at this point and then have the balls to chart $80 for fucking french fries. Absolutely ridiculous.

Ikon pass still cheaper than Mount Snow season pass 15 years ago lol, it's definitely getting up there tho, I think it was $1,000 this season which is almost $200 more than it was two years ago.... feeling like less of a steal each season

15 years ago, the season pass price at squaw valley (now palisades) was $1,899.
$1,449 for the full ikon pass might seem like a lot (to be fair, it IS a lot) but the value is way higher

As other people noted, for the most part these multi resort season passes are cheaper than the individual season passes used to be, this is true without even factoring in inflation.

Buying food at the resorts is for filthy tourists. Pack a lunch and eat on the lift.

Were probably going to see a lot of these posts coming up as theres going to be a lot of kids who werent around back in the individual pass days who have no idea how spoiled they are with the $1000 dollar passes to 30+ resorts.



If that guys 1899 for a squaw pass in 2009 is accurate, thats almost $2800 in today's money. So yeah were getting a better deal imo with $1400 and access to multiple resorts. Not to mention early bird discounts, or college pricing etc

That shit was $1000 in the early 90s when individual day lift tickets were like $50. Only rich kids had passes to squaw/Alpine/heavenly. Passes to sugar bowl, sierra, boreal were much cheaper and they had discounts for locals, students, etc.

my limited mt rose pass was $425 this year, my unlimited diamond peak pass was (i think) $359 and my limited epic pass was another $600 or so. So for $1400, I've got access to 5 local mountains plus a few more days to use at other epic-owned resorts if i want to travel. it is a lot of money for season passes but i can ski at one place or another every day of the season if i want to.

A park city pass isn’t that bad it’s like 400 for a season (if your under 18) that’s not that bad in my opinion I just do a summers work and ski all winter seems fair to me

Going up for day 18 today, even if lift tickets were only $100 I've paid my ikon pass off. Ski more and bitch less

Not even that. I just dont eat after vail was no longer offering free saltines at two elks. Those fuckers. Recently just been a few slices of ham before the drive. Also for weight loss but hey its working!

wtf vail!! i lived off the two elk saltines for yearsss. we would make “sandwiches” with the crackers and free condiments
