lil.BoyeIn my experience it’s a bit of both. If you sit in the backseat skiing you will get shinbang over time. Even with better skiing form you will probably land backseat from time to time, having good calf muscles will help out a bit though.
Having a snug fit prevents shinbang in my experience, especially around the ancles and calfs. I have often modefied my liners with foam to create more volume around the ancles. If you feel your ancle slip in your boot, do something about it asap.
