I bought the touring whitewalkers at the beginning of last year and loved them so much I bought another pair for alpine (and got another pair for backup). the ARGs just got mounted this fall, so those are new and unused as well. last year i gave away a pair of elan pow skis to one buddy and some surface auburn park skis to another. so i think that's all the changes since last time
powpatroland i thought 6 pairs was bad. what changes since last season @bennwithtwons ?

hoping to get out on a pair of white walkers asap when in revy. how tall are you for reference ?
i am 5'6" (~167.5cm) on a good day. i wish the WW121s were available in something longer than 183 but they didn't ask my opinion before putting them into production. the 183s are perfect for touring but for resort shredding, i'd be happier with something more like 190-192. Then again, I've got the ARGs to try out this year (187, again, wouldn't complain if they were a bit longer) and both the subtractions and genomes are 194s, so at least i am getting decent length from those.

o wtf that’s weird. i assumed they had 185 to 192 lengths like the 116. respect the designers n sammy at armada but don’t think i’d get on with a 183 even at 180~cm tall. enjoy your turns
i got those same Volkl Wall’s when i moved to Colorado in 2010. locked in so many of my firsts on those skis. so many fond memories. now, they live in my moms house back home in Massachusetts. all the gouges, core shots and scars over the years, but they’re still holding up. perfect for the unforgiving east coast whenever i’m back there
Stoked to hear they’re still hangin in there! Neither pair that I have are used for rails. I keep the edges sharp and the bases waxed. Since it is hard to find a pair of long, full camber park skis these days, I just use them to smash turns. The 185s in particular are just insane. Top speed all the time

i had not heard that but the shape is very similar. these are 194s and i believe the JJ came in a 192. so assuming the two companies used the same measurement approach, they aren't exactly identical. also, i doubt the construction is the same. i've never owned a pair of JJs but the subtractions are fairly heavy - almost certainly heavier than the armadas.
on a side note - julien regnier claims that when he designed the black crows nocta, it was essentially what he always wanted the JJ to be. so if you're looking for the ultimate version of the JJ, you might consider changing brands!

They are very nice! I use them as my park skis so I appreciate the lightness and low swing weight. They are not the most stable skis tho, so not the best for big jump tricks. Not as bad as Blends for example, but not too great either.
If you keep the edges sharp, they are very fun for carving as well. They have wild sidecut and they are soft, so you can really push them to tight curves.
Wildcat 190/118 and deathwish 112 are up at the cabin in NC. Need to get up there and bring them home. Commander 98’s sold off to my friend. Lightning DW were demos before picking up the blue death ts.

These are fresh off the press so I haven't skied them yet. First impressions are that they are built like tanks - really nice flex. The rounded sidewalls are also a great touch. They have some park rats building skis at Praxis - one of the employees was showing me his rail skis and the amount of punishment those skis can take is astonishing. Like catastrophic core shots that still didn't blow out the edges. They press their skis for much longer than other brands and it creates a really solid internal bond between the plastics, edges, and core apparently.
Been interested in their skis for a while. Looking forward to hearing more!
