Where do I get a cushy work from home job?

Try to find things related to "Data Annotation". We have a number of fully remote roles like this where essentially you're the human brain training computer models and AI what to look for.

Certainly not lucrative or a long term option, but might help pay the bills for a bit and most roles are WFH?

Being an accountant pretty much always guarantees you a job and my last job was entirely remote (which i hated).

There were plenty of adults in my accounting classes. I'ts not the most exciting job but it could always be worse.

Drafting drafting drafting/ Design design design

The whole job market is sorta weird right now but there are opportunities doing drafting remotely for a bunch of different industries. Telecomm, interior/exterior design, oil, public sector etc.

Lots of engineering or engineering adjacent positions.

Lots of placing are willing to train since every company and their mother is making their own proprietary software now, but it's not a terrible idea to get familiar with some of the more common software suites. Our company still has on our listings that we want ACAD, Microstation and Esri but half our team almost exclusively uses proprietary junk and the others are really just a suggestion.

Depending on the industry it's a little to a lot more interesting than just plugging in numbers all day and something you could make a career out of.

As a bit of warning though. While remote work has some great parts ya gotta be careful. Unless you're super introverted you gotta force yourself to socialize. Humans get a lot of socialization, bad or good, at work. Going 40hrs a week talking to anyone or interacting with people in person can fuck with your head. It's fine if you're good about doing stuff after work but if you live in a really remote area stuff can start to suck pretty quick.

Get into Sales Force, whatever the hell that is

Yeah learn autocad and draft those jobs can never hire. All will take someone experienced remote and its sink or swim if you produce you'll be left alone and just have to meet deadlines.

I did some sick ass AutoCAD training system that let me collect UI for another 6 months right before pandemic. Ended up getting the sales job I wanted before having to use it.

You might want to do it in person for a couple of years. I just breezed through the modules and didn't retain shit.

I should specify that AI could probably do part of my job but there are a lot of decisions made in the field that aren't black and white like people may think. IE: capitalizing certain costs, amortizing / depreciating items through different methods, prepaying certain expenses... keeping items on the Balance sheet or releasing to the P&L... etc.

People are all so wrapped up in AI automation but I think most aspects of accounting will take decades for AI to be able to do and even then it will still need to be audited by real accountants. Just like today accounting needs to be audited by a third party to verify legitimacy.

I see accounting / Finance as a very safe career and certainly one that can be done remotely.
