Beginner Touring Boots

Planning to start touring this season and looking for advice on a first boot.
For resort skiing, I have been on a pair of Salomon S/Pro 120s for the past five years and love them.
Since I'm new to backcountry but I have a pair of resort boots I'm wondering if I'd be better off with a 50/50 boot, or if it would be better to go for a true touring boot. I'm having a hard time deciding since I'm really not sure how much of a sacrifice a true tour boot would be on the downhill.

Boots don’t exist on a binary, it’s a spectrum. I like having boots with a nice rubberized sole which not all 50/50 boots have

That makes total sense. I guess my question is since I already have resort boots, does it make sense to get something further along the touring spectrum (light weight, rubberized sole, etc), or start with something more similar to the resort boots I'm used to?

I like that my boots (tecnica 0g) still have a traditional 4 buckle system and ski like a normal boot, but are also loaded with touring specific features. So I would describe them as like a 40/60 boot. A pure touring boot might feel a little too weird but if you go too far to the middle you will have a lot less fun on the uphill, which you will find is very very important. Getting something without a good well designed walk mode would be a terrible idea if you are only going to be using them for touring
